Saigon University has the latest announcement on the equivalent conversion method for the assessment test results of Ho Chi Minh City National University. This announcement was issued on July 25 when there is not much time left for candidates to register for the first round of admission (before 5:00 p.m. on July 28).

According to this announcement, Official Dispatch No. 4222/BGDĐT-GDDH dated July 21, 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training on comparing the score distribution of some combinations of high school exam scores in 2025, high school study scores stated: "In case of using the results of separate exams (capacity assessment, thinking assessment...) and other methods, it is necessary to announce the percentile of the units organizing the separate exams, the training institution determines the most suitable combination (original combination, usually the combination with the highest correlation coefficient between the two exams) to convert with the results of the separate exam, not building a bridging relationship".

Then, on July 24, the Center for Testing and Assessment of Training Quality of Ho Chi Minh City National University announced the framework for converting admission scores based on the competency assessment test scores and admission scores based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores. Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City National University announced the equivalence percentile table between the competency assessment score and the high school graduation exam score according to the admission combinations A01 (math-physics-English), B00 (math-physics-chemistry), C01 (math-literature-physics), D01 (literature-math-English). The Ho Chi Minh City National University's percentile table does not have an equivalent conversion for the combinations A00 (math-physics-chemistry) and C00 (literature-history-geography).

Therefore, Saigon University announces that it will not convert the admission method using the results of the 2025 National University of Ho Chi Minh City's competency assessment exam to the admission method using the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam for admission majors with the original combination of A00 and C00. The reason is that there is not enough basis to convert the equivalent, and at the same time, the competency assessment method will not be used for admission in these majors.

With this regulation, 5 majors of the school do not use the Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment method for admission, including: history, geography, information - library, applied mathematics, data science (not including teacher training majors that the school announced not to consider the capacity assessment test scores from the beginning).

Root combination of majors in 2025 enrollment of Saigon University

Previously, the Saigon University Admissions Council announced the entrance threshold, equivalent conversion rules and regulations on admission scores for regular university admission in 2025. According to this announcement, the conversion of competency assessment test scores to high school graduation exam scores (30-point scale) will be based on the equivalent percentile table of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
