Do not destroy the world famous dragon statue in Thuy Tien Lake

The above information was confirmed by Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Chief of Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien- Hue province, to the press on May 31. According to Mr. Giang, the province has agreed with the winning bidder to keep the dragon statue inside Thuy Tien lake, and then it will be handed over to the Hue Green Park Center for management and renovation.

The giant dragon inside Thuy Tien Lake has been cleaned and decorated to welcome visitors.

Previously, at the end of 2023, a business won the auction of assets on land at Thuy Tien Lake Water Park, and at the same time planned to dismantle many items, including the giant dragon, to hand over the land to Hue City. However, the dismantling was not carried out until the end of May 2024.

Recent observations by Thanh Nien reporters at Thuy Tien Lake show that many items inside have been renovated. Among them, the giant dragon has been cleaned up by the Hue Green Park Center. Broken glass, bottles, cans, and overgrown trees in the dragon's body have been removed and trimmed to make it more convenient for visitors.

Thuy Tien Lake Water Park has an area of ​​nearly 50 hectares, put into operation since 2004 with many items and projects, but not long after that, it stopped operating because it was ineffective, abandoned, and degraded.

Because of its desolation, the park has suddenly become a "hot" destination for domestic and international tourists. In particular, in 2016, the American newspaper Huffington Post mentioned Thuy Tien Lake Park as a haunted destination not to be missed. CNN also praised this place as an abandoned destination that attracts many tourists.
