Lai Chau Industrial Promotion focuses on supporting brand building and market expansion

To enhance industrial promotion activities, Lai Chau province will focus on supporting rural industrial establishments in technological innovation, brand building, market expansion, and management improvement; at the same time, promoting trade promotion.

Increase the value of rural industrial production

Lai Chau is a mountainous border province, with more than 80% of the population being ethnic minorities, many of whom are ethnic minorities, and their lives are still difficult. In that context, socio- economic development and sustainable poverty reduction are always the key tasks, and industrial promotion plays a particularly important role; it is an effective tool to support the development of industry and rural handicrafts, exploiting the advantages of local resources and labor, contributing to economic restructuring and increasing people's income.

Lai Chau Industrial Promotion Center (Center) stated that industrial promotion activities have many practical meanings such as creating jobs and livelihoods for rural workers through supporting the development of traditional occupations and processing industries, helping people have stable incomes and limiting labor migration. At the same time, preserving and promoting national cultural identity through the restoration of handicrafts such as brocade weaving, weaving, and carving.

In addition, industrial promotion also contributes to promoting economic restructuring, gradually reducing the proportion of pure agriculture , increasing the value of rural industrial production; supporting the application of science and technology, advanced machinery in production, improving productivity, product quality and competitiveness.

According to the Center, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the province has implemented 30 industrial promotion projects with a total support fund of more than 4.7 billion VND, attracting more than 4.1 billion VND from beneficiaries. Of which, the national industrial promotion implemented 10 projects with 3.1 billion VND, local industrial promotion implemented 20 projects with more than 1.6 billion VND.

The projects focus on building technical demonstration models, transferring technology, and applying advanced machinery. Developing typical rural industrial products, organizing voting, participating in fairs, and supporting trademark registration for 24 products. Promoting propaganda and consulting on rural industrial development, disseminating policies; training to improve management capacity and apply cleaner production. Thanks to that, many establishments have boldly invested in equipment innovation, improving productivity, product quality, saving raw materials, reducing environmental pollution, building brands, and expanding markets.

Promote preferential policies and encourage investment

In addition to the achieved results, industrial promotion work in Lai Chau province still faces many difficulties due to its remote geographical features, fragmented terrain, difficult transportation, and unsynchronized technical infrastructure. Most of the roads are low-level and narrow, and trade connections are still limited, so the province's ability to attract investment and develop industry is not high. Information on science, technology, and markets is still lacking, and the production and business environment is not really favorable, making it difficult to access and exploit local potential and advantages.

Along with that, most of the rural industrial establishments in the area are small in scale, have weak financial capacity, and are not bold enough to invest in equipment innovation, expand production scale or develop new products. The main source of investment capital is equity capital, which is still limited, while access to loans from the State and credit institutions is still difficult. The quality of human resources is still low, the team of technical workers and skilled artisans is scarce, the management capacity at rural industrial establishments is still weak, there is a lack of staff with professional qualifications in economics and technology...

Faced with the above reality, in order for industrial promotion to truly play its role as a driving force for socio-economic development, Lai Chau Industrial Promotion Center said that it will review, amend, supplement and issue documents to create a favorable legal corridor for industrial promotion activities. Promote and encourage industrial and handicraft establishments to research and apply scientific and technical advances, innovate technology, and gradually apply digital transformation in production, management and product consumption.

At the same time, organize training courses to improve management skills, marketing, and cleaner production techniques. Increase support for establishments to build, register trademarks, brands, promote trade, advertise products, and participate in fairs and exhibitions inside and outside the province. Encourage the formation of enterprises and cooperatives as focal points for linking production and consumption, contributing to the development of sustainable value chains.

In addition, the Center will also arrange and balance the budget reasonably, ensuring financial resources to meet the needs of implementing the province's industrial promotion program. Actively mobilize social capital, call on enterprises and organizations inside and outside the province to participate in investment, support industrial promotion activities. At the same time, well implement preferential policies, encourage investment; create conditions for rural industrial establishments to expand their scale, innovate technology, and improve product quality.

With synchronous and long-term solutions, the Center believes it will contribute to promoting the effectiveness of industrial promotion work; promoting rural industrial development, creating sustainable livelihoods and improving the lives of ethnic minorities in the province.
