To enhance the competitiveness of the destination and anticipate the tourist market, Quang Ninh's tourism industry is striving to boost promotional activities, stimulate demand, and conduct extensive marketing and communication campaigns. These activities are diverse and combine various approaches, showcasing the potential, strengths, and attractive tourism products to visitors, reaching a wide range of tourist segments.
To expand the market and attract tourists to Quang Ninh , the Department of Tourism has directed localities and units to strengthen communication and tourism promotion activities, as well as organize events to stimulate the market, seminars introducing destinations; and participate in tourism fairs to connect businesses, flexibly combining direct and online forms. The province will organize programs to survey destinations and products for travel businesses and media agencies, strengthening cooperation between Quang Ninh province and key tourism localities in promotion.
In the first quarter of 2025, the tourism industry aims to attract 5.5 million visitors and generate revenue exceeding 12 trillion VND. To develop the international tourist market, the province will organize promotional programs abroad, focusing on traditional markets such as South Korea, China, Taiwan, and potential markets like India, Australia, and Germany. Simultaneously, it will organize working sessions and sign cooperation agreements with reputable domestic and international travel agencies, and welcome international travel agency delegations and journalists for surveys and promotional activities. In particular, Quang Ninh's tourism sector will continue to exchange and coordinate with tourism management agencies in several Chinese localities to agree on solutions for attracting and exchanging tourists, focusing on resolving difficulties, existing problems, and issues related to the management of the tourism business environment.
For the domestic market, the tourism industry continues to promote the implementation of signed memorandums of cooperation with key tourism provinces and cities, airlines, and major travel agencies to boost tourist attraction. Specifically, it will organize working programs and promotional activities to stimulate tourism in Quang Ninh with several southern provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong, as well as northern provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, and Bac Giang, along with state-owned and private economic groups, reputable major travel agencies, and airlines; and proactively participate in the Vietnam Tourism Fair (VITM 2025), the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2025, and the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair (ITE 2025)...
Specifically, Quang Ninh plans to organize 170 programs, events, and activities to stimulate tourism in the province. These include 24 international, national, and provincial-level cultural, sports, and tourism programs and events; and 146 local-level programs. Notable Spring-Summer activities include: the Ha Long Carnival 2025, the Bach Dang Traditional Festival, the Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Culture Festival 2025, the Aqua Warriors HaLong Bay 2025, and the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair Summer 2025. The festival includes motorized kite flying and paragliding, lion and dragon dance festivals… In addition, in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, the Autumn-Winter Tourism Week will take place with sports events organized in Quang Ninh province such as: the 2025 National U23 Fencing Championship, the Quang Ninh Open Sports Dance Championship, the Yen Tu Heritage Marathon 2025... Functional units will focus on promoting Quang Ninh tourism, coordinating with media units to publish tourism information on all platforms; proactively monitoring information on the press and social media to promptly detect and advise on measures to handle any biased information that affects the image and brand of the locality and the province.
Along with the province, localities are also ready to organize many events to stimulate demand and attract tourists. Mr. Nguyen Hai Linh, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Co To district, said: In the coming time, the district will continue to develop the night-time economy model to maximize the potential and advantages of existing tourism. This includes building a night market model (shopping, comprehensive food), organizing pedestrian streets, creating a vibrant pedestrian street space, and linking entertainment, culture, arts, sports, and business activities with services. In addition, the district will also focus on utilizing social media to promote and develop Co To tourism, creating Co To tourism publications, promotional video clips, and stimulating tourism demand.
In Mong Cai City, communes and wards have coordinated to develop programs and organize events and activities to stimulate demand and attract tourists, as directed by the city. They also regularly post tourism information and images on fan pages to promote the local tourism potential and activities; develop promotional programs, offer tours, introduce and promote tourism to visitors; and connect with travel agencies nationwide to provide materials and introduce products to tourists.
Furthermore, businesses are also urgently implementing tourism promotion and marketing plans through media channels, making the most of existing platforms and not missing the "golden opportunity" to promote tourism. Mr. Pham Van Hiep, CEO of Sun Group in the Northeast region, shared: "At this time, the company is actively promoting Quang Ninh as a tourist destination on billboards, posters, and projection screens within the tourism ecosystem of Sun Group and its partners such as airlines, travel agencies, resorts, etc. In addition, the company is also quickly connecting and working with travel agencies to develop tourism packages to Quang Ninh via Van Don airport, creating conditions for tourists to have memorable experiences in Quang Ninh."
At the beginning of 2025, Quang Ninh welcomed positive and promising signs from its tourism sector. With a clear tourism development strategy and innovative, flexible approaches to stimulating and promoting tourism, Quang Ninh is gradually realizing its goal of welcoming 20 million tourists by 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors, while generating 55,000 billion VND from tourism activities.
