Travel Planner is a profession that designs travel itineraries that fit personal schedules. Unlike tour guides, travel planners mainly focus on the schedule and do not participate in managing or accompanying guests on the trip.
Nowadays, this job is very popular in the world , but still new in Vietnam.

Unexpected fate
Thy Van said that in 2011, she started traveling around the world to satisfy her passion. Within 10 years, she had set foot in 36 countries, 5 continents and more than 200 cities. After that, Thy Van also often shared her experiences on social networks.
At first, her friends knew about her so every time they went abroad, they asked Thy Van to make a free itinerary. When she became widely known, the young girl realized the need and turned travel scheduling into a "side job".
"I never thought that one day I would make money from my trips. It wasn't until I traveled a lot and experienced a lot that I realized that the job of scheduling is extremely popular, but in Vietnam, few people know about it," Thy Van shared.

According to the young girl, the requirement for a travel planner is to organize in a logical and scientific way. In addition, it is necessary to equip skills in booking restaurant and hotel services, organizing tour guides, etc. In particular, the most important prerequisite is that each person must have practical experience in the places that need advice in order to bring the best to tourists.
"Customers will only trust you if you have been there and experienced it. It will be difficult to be a planner without having traveled a lot to handle situations and problems while saving the most time and money," Thy Van said.
Huge income and "half-laughing, half-crying" stories
According to Van, because Travel Planner is a relatively new profession, few people pursue it, so there are still many customers in Vietnam. Thy Van's work of planning trips for the super-rich also happens regularly because they are people who have little time to think about plans and have the financial means to find support.
"The super-rich usually don't care about the price, but only care about the experience and comfort. However, they are very sophisticated, have taste, and require privacy and special care, so the service must be worthy. When the super-rich are happy, you will receive commissions and a larger customer base from the rich," Thy Van said.
With this part-time job, Thy Van can earn 100 million VND/month (Photo: NVCC).
For each plan, depending on the length and difficulty of the trip, the cost will be different. Normally, each customer usually spends from 2 to 10 million VND for a private itinerary. However, customers with higher requirements or participating in groups are willing to spend more than 100 million VND for a trip. Thanks to that, Thy Van has an additional income of 20-100 million VND per month, not including commissions.
Despite her huge income, Thy Van also encountered many difficulties when customers refused to pay for her services. After sending her schedule, she only received silence... The young girl was even often criticized by the online community just because she often posted pictures of her traveling everywhere.
"Many people do not know that traveling and experiencing are also part of the job, so it is easy to understand. Instead of explaining, I am currently focusing on doing better, perfecting the process to be more professional and clear," said the young girl.
Dream to travel all over the world
Currently, the income earned from her "side job" will be used by the young girl to pay for her and her family's trips. Thy Van is willing to return to many countries many times to increase the experience. Of which, she has been to Japan 4 times, the US 2 times, Australia 2 times and Europe 4 times...
"The most profound impression on me was probably the trip to Tibet. It opened up a world of mental and spiritual strength, slowly from breathing to daily life. My dream is to be able to set foot everywhere in the world on my life journey," Thy Van expressed.

Besides writing content on Facebook and TikTok, the young girl is also building her personal brand on forums and travel enthusiast communities to create more customer files. Thy Van shared that the travel planner profession is very developed and new in Vietnam, so it is completely open to young people who are passionate about traveling.
"The profession also requires many skills such as organization, arrangement, communication, and soft skills and relies on each individual's enjoyment and experience," the young girl said with a smile.
