Kingston Technology, a world leader in memory products and technology solutions, announced that it has been named the world's number one third-party SSD supplier across the channel through 2024 by analyst firm TrendForce.
Kingston’s continued leadership in SSD shipments in 2024 helped it maintain a strong competitive advantage and record market share growth compared to 2023. This again solidifies Kingston’s position as the leading SSD manufacturer, with the number two vendor accounting for just 13% of the total channel market share. This achievement is built on Kingston’s extensive global channel network, top-quality SSD product portfolio, and unparalleled customer support.
Based on the latest findings, retail SSD sales are facing challenges due to continued weak consumer demand and SSD installation rates in laptops reaching saturation (100%). These factors contributed to a 14% year-over-year decline in total SSD shipments through the distribution channel.
In 2024, Kingston significantly expanded its SSD portfolio with a range of new solutions spanning consumer, data center, industrial, and external portable drives. Among them, the NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD enhances the end-user experience by delivering high-capacity 4x4 NVMe PCIe performance in a compact form factor.
For data center applications, Kingston also introduced the high-performance DC2000B M.2 NVME PCIe 4.0 SSD to serve as a boot drive inside large-scale rack-mount servers.
