BHG - When agricultural products are listed on the stock exchange, people go online, and businesses digitize their business models, it is also the time when the digital economy in the northernmost part of the country begins to break through, opening up a new, dynamic and modern development landscape.
On October 29, 2021, the Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution 18 on digital transformation in the province, period 2021 - 2025, orientation to 2030. This is a breakthrough solution, a key task throughout, implemented on all three pillars: Digital government, digital economy and digital society. In which, digital economy is identified as the most important driving force to promote growth, enhance competitiveness, innovate production and business models, create added value, and bring Ha Giang deeper into the global supply chain. To realize this goal, the province has synchronously deployed many key solutions such as: Promoting information provision, improving the investment environment, improving the Administrative Reform Index (PAR Index), Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), creating a favorable foundation for business development. Outstanding results: In 2024, Ha Giang's PCI Index reached 66.71 points, an increase of 4.86 points compared to 2023; PAR Index ranked 31/63 provinces and cities nationwide.

One of the clear marks of the digital economy is supporting agricultural production households to put OCOP products on e-commerce platforms. With the synchronous participation of Viettel Post, Ha Giang branch and the Provincial Post Office , all OCOP products of the province are posted on e-commerce platforms such as Voso, Sendo, Lazada, Buudien.vn... 100% of agricultural production households with accounts participating in e-commerce platforms are trained, coached in digital skills, guided on building booths, promoting products and practicing online transactions. The digital economy has "paved the way" for OCOP products to be on the platform, people to go online, changing their mindset from traditional retail to e-commerce, livestreaming sales (streaming videos online).
With 13 products certified as OCOP 3-4 stars, Hai Khang Cooperative is the leading unit in Bac Quang district in terms of the number of OCOP products. Taking advantage of the fresh and delicious specialties rich in local identity, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khang - Director of the Cooperative has flexibly applied digital technology, livestreaming on Facebook, TikTok to introduce visually, telling stories about the origin of raw materials, processing processes of OCOP products such as: Horse ham, smoked salted hill chicken... "Livestreaming helps me interact directly with thousands of customers, answer questions immediately and close orders quickly - something that traditional sales cannot do", Ms. Khang shared. Not stopping there, Hai Khang Cooperative also built an online booth on e-commerce platforms, operating 24/7, supporting cashless payments, home delivery, bringing convenience to customers. The flexible combination of livestream and e-commerce helps Hai Khang Cooperative increase revenue, expand the market, and gradually build a prestigious OCOP agricultural product brand nationwide.
No need for a large space or billboard, just with a smartphone, Ms. Hoang Thi Van Anh - the livestream staff of Hung Lan One Member Co., Ltd. (Bac Quang) easily closed orders right on the livestream, bringing goods directly to consumers. "In the first livestream session, we successfully closed nearly 30 orders for household appliances and electrical equipment in just 30 minutes. That is the power of digital transformation: Faster, wider and more effective than traditional sales", Ms. Van Anh affirmed.
The story of Hung Lan One Member Co., Ltd. or Hai Khang Cooperative shows that the digital economy is no longer a distant concept but is present in every order and mouse click, bringing hometown specialties closer to the market. In just the first 3 months of 2025, the total transaction value through the e-commerce platform of the whole province reached about 500 million VND. Accumulated from 2022 to present, the total revenue reached nearly 3.4 billion VND, becoming a testament to the great potential of the digital consumption channel.
Not stopping at the above results, the digital economic wave is spreading widely to the business community. The whole province currently has 2,850 enterprises with a total registered capital of nearly 37.7 trillion VND, along with 1,445 affiliated units and 874 cooperatives. Notably, 168 enterprises and cooperatives have digitally transformed their business models; 20 enterprises operate in digital technology; 32 small and medium enterprises participate in the program to support enterprises in digital transformation (SMEdx). 100% of operating enterprises have deployed electronic invoices, contributing to increasing transparency and convenience in financial declaration and management.
At the central markets of districts, communes, wards and towns, a 4.0 market model has been formed. From the habit of using cash, people have gradually switched to electronic payments through scanning QR Codes, e-wallets... In particular, over 80% of the population aged 15 and over have electronic transaction accounts, creating a solid foundation for accessing digital financial services, expanding non-cash payments, promoting civilized and modern consumption and forming new transaction habits in the community.
The above outstanding results not only reflect the province's great determination in promoting the digital economy but also show the right direction, keeping up with global trends. The digital economy not only creates immediate economic value but is also the "key" to improving competitiveness, expanding the market, shortening the development gap between rural and urban areas, creating a solid foundation for Ha Giang to develop rapidly and sustainably in the digital age.
