Production Link

The province has 615 cooperatives with over 13,000 members, charter capital of VND 2,406 billion, average revenue of VND 1.2 billion/cooperative; average income of members and regular workers of cooperatives is VND 54 million/person/year. In particular, many cooperatives have been aiming at chain production models, green growth with the main strength being agricultural production. Many quality products with high added value have been present on the market, contributing to increasing income for members.

Mr. Tran Viet Coi, Binh Minh Organic Agricultural Cooperative, Nhung Dam village, Tu Quan commune (Yen Son) said: The cooperative was established in 2022, however, since the end of 2020, the cooperative has worked with a group of households to plan, demarcate the growing area and select fruit trees and medicinal plants as the core for development. In 2022, the cooperative will expand its links with many other production households to grow medicinal plants, fruit trees and raise bees for honey. Up to now, the cooperative's raw material area is about 21 hectares, mainly growing medicinal plants and fruit trees such as: male papaya, Morinda officinalis, Xạ đen, Cà gai leo, Khôi nhung tree...

Since 2023, with support of 100 million VND from the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting of Tuyen Quang , the Cooperative has boldly invested in building a factory, purchasing machinery and equipment to complete the production line of tea bags from black beans with a capacity of 15 - 20 tons of raw materials/year; creating jobs for 15 workers with an average income of 5 - 7 million VND/person/month and many households growing green-heart black beans, medicinal plants in Tu Quan commune and neighboring communes, with a revenue of about 7 billion VND/year; after-tax profit reached over 900 million VND/year; contributing over 700 million VND to the state budget.

Production linkage has brought practical results, helping to raise people's awareness from traditional production to commodity production linked to the market, contributing to increasing income. Mr. Tran Van Phuc, Director of Minh Tam Livestock and Poultry Breeding Cooperative, Tu Thinh Commune (Son Duong) excitedly said that the cooperative was established in 2017 with 16 members, implementing 2 linkage chains of livestock breeding, poultry breeding production and cucumber production and consumption chain.

Up to now, the cooperative has nearly 40 members organizing production and signing contracts to link and consume cucumbers with over 1,200 households growing 170 hectares of cucumbers in the province. The cooperative supplies seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, technical guidance, and consumes all products for growers according to the signed contract. The cooperative's annual revenue reaches over 2.8 billion VND, after deducting expenses, it still makes a profit of over 1 billion VND.

Towards green production

Su Anh Agricultural Production Service Cooperative, My Bang Commune (Yen Son) has boldly invested in technology and machinery to improve the quality and diversify tea products, creating different products. Director of the Cooperative Nguyen Cong Su said: In 2017, he and 6 households established Su Anh Agricultural Production Service Cooperative, specializing in growing and processing tea. After 7 years of development, the Cooperative has increased the production area to more than 30 hectares of tea, creating jobs for more than 30 workers.

Currently, the tea area is nearly 100 hectares, the total average tea output reaches 125 tons of raw materials/year, the entire area is applied according to VietGAP standards and linked with over 100 households in Yen Son, Son Duong, Ham Yen districts and Tuyen Quang city. Participating in the model, households must strictly follow the "4 rights" principle (right medicine, right dosage, right time and right method).

With the support of authorities at all levels, the cooperative has access to preferential mechanisms and policies, and has connected with a number of businesses and supermarkets to consume its products. The cooperative has also boldly converted to new tea varieties with high productivity and quality such as Ngoc Thuy tea, Bat Tien tea, etc., gradually applying organic production to create products that better protect the health of consumers.
Circular production is being aimed at by Sang Nhung Safe Food Production Cooperative.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sang, Director of the Cooperative, shared: The Cooperative is cooperating with a Korean enterprise to prepare to launch a microbial organic fertilizer product, aiming to solve the pollution problems that many livestock units are facing "from root to tip". Fertilizers are supplied directly to local farmers to grow vegetables, tubers, and fruits. After that, the Cooperative continues to link up to consume the products, using that source of raw materials to produce animal feed. In other words, the Cooperative aims to further develop a circular process along the value chain, creating maximum economic and quality efficiency.

Currently, the fertilizer production line is being tested with an estimated investment of over 30 billion VND, with a capacity of 30 tons/day. When the fertilizer products are released to the market, the Sang Nhung Safe Food Production and Processing Cooperative will complete the circular production process. This will help the Cooperative become the first cooperative to implement a circular economic model, thoroughly protecting the environment in livestock farming.
Mr. Sang affirmed: The cooperative continues to invest in science and technology, innovate production processes to upgrade Sang Nhung herbal pork products to 5-star OCOP.

At the National Cooperative Forum 2025 held on April 11 in Hanoi with the theme "Transforming green production for sustainable development", Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that collective economic organizations need to proactively overcome inherent barriers and obstacles to rise up; strongly change in thinking, awareness and action; increase investment in green transformation, green technology and digital transformation.

In order to support cooperatives to adapt well to enter the orbit of green economic development, in recent times, the Party and Government have issued many important policies such as: Resolution 106/NQ-CP on the development of agricultural cooperatives, Decree 113/2024/ND-CP detailing the Law on Cooperatives and Resolution 20-NQ/TW of the Central Committee on continuing to develop the collective economy in the new period... In addition, Resolution 106 has identified the development of agricultural cooperatives in a sustainable direction as a key task in restructuring agriculture and building new rural areas.

With specific government policies and the proactive and flexible production transformation of cooperatives, it is expected that the collective economy and cooperatives will have green growth.
