At 3:35 a.m. on July 23, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Thai Nguyen Provincial Police) received a report of a fire at the Quoc Hung gold and silver store in Group 2, Cho Moi Commune (owned by Mr. Tran Quoc Hung, born in 1951, residing in Phu Luong Commune).

At the time of the fire, 3 people were trapped on the 2nd floor of the house. The authorities quickly dispatched 3 vehicles and 18 officers and soldiers to the scene to organize fire fighting and rescue.

The fire broke out in the kitchen area on the first floor of the store. Due to the presence of many flammable materials and plastic utensils, a large amount of smoke and toxic gas was released, covering the entire staircase and hallways on all floors of the house, making it difficult for fire investigation and rescue work.

Mr. Tran Quoc Manh (Mr. Hung's son) was able to escape by himself, while two people, Ms. Bao Hong Van, born in 1995, and Tran Huyen Anh, born in 2023 (Mr. Manh's wife and child), were trapped on the second floor. Immediately, the Fire Commander assigned the Rescue Team to quickly deploy a plan, using gas masks and oxygen tanks to go to the second floor to rescue the two people in time.

The fire fighting team prioritized extinguishing the fire in the stairwell area leading to the second floor to support the rescue team. After about 10 minutes, the rescue team approached and brought 2 people through the exit to the second floor of the house next door, out safely.

At 3:52 a.m. the same day, the fire was under control; at 4:10 a.m., the fire brigade extinguished the fire, safely protecting the remaining rooms on the first floor and the entire second and third floors of the building, preventing the fire from spreading to two neighboring households. Preliminary damage estimate: 1 kitchen with an area of about 5 square meters and some household items.

The cause and specific damage are being clarified by the authorities.
