The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center (Institute of Earth Sciences ) reported that at noon on May 28, there were 4 consecutive earthquakes in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province.
These earthquakes had magnitudes ranging from 2.6 to 3.7 and did not cause any damage to people or property.
Specifically, the most recent earthquake had a magnitude of 3.6, occurring at 11:43:12 ( Hanoi time), with the epicenter located at coordinates 14.999 degrees North latitude - 108.157 degrees East longitude. The focal depth was determined to be about 8.1km.

This shows that these earthquakes are unlikely to pose a major risk to people and structures in the area.
Earlier, on the same morning, two earthquakes with magnitudes of 2.6-2.7 and a focal depth of about 8.1km also occurred in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province; causing no casualties or property damage.
Earthquakes in Kon Plong district are considered by experts to be stimulated earthquakes; occurring frequently and continuously since 2021 until now.
Deputy Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Anh said that earthquakes in this area have a magnitude of no more than 5.0.
The level of earthquakes in this area, although occurring frequently, has not reached the level of risk warning.
The Institute of Earth Sciences regularly reports on earthquake activities to the authorities and people in this area; at the same time, the Institute's staff continues to monitor and process data on earthquakes in Kon Plong district.
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Anh recommends that when an earthquake occurs, people should hold on to a door frame or crawl under a table if they are in a building with a solid structure.
