Kon Tum held a memorial service and buried the remains of 26 martyrs.

On May 16, at the Martyrs Cemetery of Ngoc Hoi district, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kon Tum province held a memorial service and burial ceremony for 26 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the wars in Laos and Cambodia.

Kon Tum held a memorial service for 26 martyrs

In the 2024-2025 dry season, officers and soldiers of Team K53 (Provincial Military Command) searched for, recovered, and brought back to Vietnam the remains of 26 martyrs mentioned above. Of these, 16 martyrs died in Laos and 10 martyrs died in Cambodia.

At the memorial service, Ms. Y Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairman of Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee, expressed her respect, condolences and infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fought bravely and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and the noble spirit of international solidarity and friendship.

Ms. Y Ngoc promises to do her best to serve the country, for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, and civilization; together unite and strive to build and develop the province to be more prosperous and happy. At the same time, continue to preserve, cultivate and further promote the solidarity and good friendship between Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.
