24th Session, 17th Provincial People's Council: Approved many important contents

On the afternoon of April 28, the Provincial People's Council, term XVII, 2021 - 2026, held its 24th session (special session) to review and decide on a number of important issues. Attending the meeting was comrade Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and voted to approve the Provincial People's Council to pass 6 draft resolutions, including: Resolution on approving the policy of rearranging the provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh ; Resolution on approving the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units of Vinh Phuc province in 2025; Resolution on visiting and encouraging people with meritorious services, relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution and some units on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day; some people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; children in special circumstances on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1, 2025; Resolution on supplementing, assigning details and adjusting the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for the period 2021 - 2025 (phase 13); Resolution on allocating the Local State Budget Investment Plan in 2025 (phase 5); Resolution on adjusting the Public Investment Plan for 2025.

Among the contents resolved at the 24th Session, there are major, especially important, urgent, and historical issues such as: The Provincial People's Council voted and approved the policy of establishing Phu Tho province directly under the Central Government on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population size of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, and Hoa Binh provinces; approved the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units of Vinh Phuc province in 2025 from 121 communes, wards, and towns to 36 new commune-level administrative units (including 32 communes and 4 wards), reducing 85 commune-level administrative units; approved the addition of VND 232,942 billion to the total capital source assigned to the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for the period 2021 - 2025. Thus, after the 13th adjustment, the total capital source of the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for the period 2021 - 2025 of the province is VND 52,754,309 billion.

Speaking at the closing session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Ha Quang Tien requested that immediately after this session, the Provincial People's Committee should have a plan to organize the implementation of the resolutions; urgently complete the dossier on the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units in the area to submit to competent authorities for decision and implementation.

The Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Council committees, the delegations and the delegates of the Provincial People's Council are responsible for coordinating with relevant agencies to effectively perform the function of supervising the implementation of the resolution; at the same time, actively propagating and mobilizing people to effectively implement the resolutions of the Provincial People's Council.
