Signing of coordination regulations in forest management and protection

On the afternoon of November 18, in Dong Van commune, the Forest Protection Department of Region XVI held a signing ceremony of coordination regulations with armed forces units and local authorities in the area on forest management and protection.

Delegates took souvenir photos at the conference to sign regulations on coordination in forest management and protection.

Attending the signing ceremony were leaders of the units: Forest Ranger Department of Region XVI; Defense Command of Region 1 - Yen Minh; Border Guard stations of Son Vi, Xin Cai, Lung Cu, Dong Van, Pho Bang; leaders of People's Committees and Police of the communes: Lung Cu, Pho Bang, Sa Phin, Lung Phin, Dong Van, Meo Vac, Son Vi, Niem Son, Khau Vai, Tat Nga and Sung Mang.

The Forest Protection Department of Region XVI currently manages forest and forestry land areas spread over 11 communes, with complex terrain, long borders, and scattered populations. In recent times, forest fire prevention and control work has been implemented synchronously and proactively, contributing to minimizing damage caused by forest fires. However, the situation of encroachment on forest land, illegal exploitation and transportation of forest products is still complicated; the risk of forest fires in the dry season is always present. Therefore, strengthening coordination in implementing the tasks of forest management, protection and development is of great importance to maintain forest security and security in border areas.

Based on the signed regulations, the units agreed to increase information exchange; coordinate inter-sectoral patrols and inspections; promptly detect and handle forest encroachment; develop and deploy forest fire prevention and control plans suitable to the reality of each locality; step up propaganda and mobilize people to comply with forestry laws; promote the role of the community in protecting and developing sustainable forests, associated with socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security.
