Accordingly, at around 2:30 p.m. on September 10, TAT - a student in class 2A3 - was talking and joking with his deskmate during class. Mr. Lam Thanh - the homeroom teacher - reminded T. many times but the student did not obey.

So, while using an electric cord to tie the window curtains, Mr. Lam Thanh used this cord to hit T. on the back because he could not control his emotions.

Upon learning of the incident, the leaders of Vinh Tan 2 Primary School visited T.'s house to apologize and persuade her to remove the post on social media, but the family did not agree.

On September 11, the school established a disciplinary council and agreed to impose a warning on Mr. Lam Thanh. Student T. has also returned to school.

Previously, a social media account believed to be the parent of a second-grade male student at an elementary school in Vinh Chau town shared information and photos of her child with marks on his back, suspected of being beaten with an electric wire by a teacher.

“My husband and I try to work to earn money to raise our child, but we never expected that at the beginning of the year, our child would be beaten. I hope that law enforcement agencies and the Department of Education and Training will resolve this issue,” the parent’s post stated.
