- How are you? At the age of nearly 70, what do you usually care about?
Currently, my health is still stable. My day starts with taking care of my children going to school. After that, I spend time on housework as well as taking care of myself and my family. At this age, I mostly only care about my health and my loved ones in my small family.
- You were a beauty queen when you were young with a height that stood out compared to other women of your time. In your opinion, has Truong Ngoc Anh "inherited" her mother's beauty?
When I was young, I had the opportunity to participate in the Miss Hanoi contest but I didn’t win any prize! (laughs) However, the contest still gave me the opportunity to meet and make many close friends.

At that time, I had a small body with a height of 1.63m, which could be said to be quite outstanding compared to my peers. My daughter had a unique beauty and was more modern than I was at that time. My beauty carried the traditional colors of old Hanoi.
- Do you still remember the memories of being pregnant and giving birth to Truong Ngoc Anh? Why did you choose to name your daughter Ngoc Anh?
When I was pregnant with Anh, I suffered from morning sickness, which was something I didn't have when I gave birth to my second child. From the beginning, I intended to name my child Ngoc Anh. But my husband's family advised me to avoid everyone having to call her "anh" so I added the accent to make it Ngoc Anh. This is a memory I will never forget.
- What was Truong Ngoc Anh's personality like when she was little? Was she like Bao Tien now, madam?
As a child, Truong Ngoc Anh had a personality that stood out from her classmates. For many years, Truong Ngoc Anh held important positions in the class such as class monitor, team leader, and Youth Union secretary.

As a child, Anh had a talent for mime and acting. Sometimes, when she came home, Anh would perform comedy for the whole family and make everyone laugh a lot. Anh showed her artistic talent since she was a child. Bao Tien now has a quite different personality compared to Anh back then. Only her tall and thin figure is the same.
- When Ms. Truong Ngoc Anh was young, how did she teach her daughter? I heard that Hanoi people teach their children very strictly?
That’s right! When Anh was little, my family and I raised her very strictly, following the tradition of the old Hanoians. That’s why Anh was very obedient, polite and filial to her parents.
- What is the thing that you are most dissatisfied with in your daughter?
Anh is a dutiful child and knows how to take care of her parents. Therefore, for me, Anh is always the greatest pride of me and my family.

- No matter how old children are, they are always small in the eyes of their parents. Is that why when your daughter encounters difficulties or stumbles, you cannot help but feel worried and anxious?
That is natural. No matter how grown up children are, they are always small in the eyes of their parents. Until now, I still worry about my children and grandchildren every day. This is both my responsibility and my joy in life.
- Seeing your daughter grow up and now become your granddaughter, how happy are you? Currently, what are you most worried about or looking forward to most from your daughter?
Seeing my children and grandchildren grow up and succeed, I can only say that I am very happy and proud. I hope that my children and grandchildren will always be safe, happy and steady in their career and studies. Just like that, I am very happy. At this age, that is all I hope for.
