According to the Miss Grand International Organization (MGI), Fátima Bosch's statements to the media have seriously damaged the organization's reputation.

MGI representatives said that the Mexican beauty misunderstood Mr. Nawat's English speech at the Miss Universe 2025 event on November 4, causing the president to be heavily criticized by public opinion.

MGI said Fátima Bosch “misheard” and accused Mr. Nawat of insulting her. After the argument, she left the hall, dragging several other contestants with her, causing the sash presentation to be interrupted.

Despite realizing the misunderstanding, Fátima Bosch continued to make statements that were considered misleading, further damaging Mr. Nawat's image.

Mr. Nawat filed a lawsuit in a Thai court on November 12, asking the new beauty queen to stop spreading inaccurate information and affirming that MGI will continue to take strong measures if the case persists.

Tension at Miss Universe 2025

On November 4, the war of words between Fatima Bosch and Mr. Nawat at the sash ceremony became the focus of international media. According to USA Today, Mr. Nawat was accused of using harsh words when Bosch refused to participate in a photo shoot for the sponsor.

The Thai businessman was accused of making insulting remarks, causing Fatima Bosch to stand up and leave the hall. Many contestants, including the reigning Miss Universe, also left, forcing the event to be halted midway.

After the incident, Bosch declared that she had “no regrets” when speaking out: “I am not a doll that can only change clothes according to other people's wishes. I entered the contest to speak up for women all over the world . Believe in your own strength. Never let others make you doubt your self-worth. When you are strong, your voice will be heard.”

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) later issued a statement reprimanding Mr. Nawat, asserting that his statement was “disrespectful and contrary to the values of women’s empowerment.” Many international media channels such as People, New York Post, Hola Magazine, Kursiv Media… criticized his behavior.

Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios and Miss Universe 2024 Kjær Theilvig respectively spoke up in defense of Bosch, emphasizing the value of women's voices in the pageant.

Under pressure from public opinion, Mr. Nawat apologized, saying the incident stemmed from a “language misunderstanding.” After the incident, MUO announced a warning and restricted Mr. Nawat’s rights at Miss Universe 2025. This is considered one of the biggest scandals of the season.

New Miss Universe 2025 continues to face controversy

Although the contest ended in November, the negative repercussions have not stopped. Immediately after the final night, Fátima Bosch’s Miss title was questioned. Suspicions that she “bought the title” thanks to her close relationship with MUO leaders spread on social media.

The official Miss Universe website and Bosch's personal account were repeatedly attacked, with many viewers demanding that she return the crown. The Mexican beauty affirmed that she deserved the title thanks to her efforts and convincing performance in the final.

Bosch is on assignment in the US and preparing to travel to many countries.
