The tiara, which features diamonds and rubies, features a sparkling lotus motif and Mughal-style arches. It was the first time Kate Middleton wore the tiara, and many believe it is the largest and rarest piece she has ever worn.
According to jeweler Garrard, the tiara was commissioned by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria in 1853. The exquisite piece of jewelry, which includes 2,600 diamonds, was previously worn by the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II.
Additionally, Kate Middleton completed her look with earrings from the late Queen Elizabeth, a Royal Victorian Order ribbon and star, and carried a black clutch.

Also on the morning of December 3, Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton welcomed German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender at Heathrow Airport in London, opening a 3-day state visit, also the first German state visit to the UK in 27 years.
At the reception, Kate Middleton wore a green Alexander McQueen coat designed by Sarah Burton, paired with a navy blue Burberry dress, suede boots and a hat by Juliette Botterill.
She completed her look with two-tiered sapphire and diamond earrings – a wedding gift from Crown Prince Fahd of Saudi Arabia to Princess Diana – and the Prince of Wales' feather brooch. The brooch, with three ostrich feathers and a tiara in the middle, was worn by both Princess Diana and Queen Camilla.

The Duchess has recently been making headlines for sporting longer, brighter hair than ever before. At the Royal Variety Performance last month, she shared her transformation with actress Su Pollard.
When Su Pollard complimented her light-colored hair, Kate Middleton replied: "My hair used to be brown, but the sun lightened it."
In September, Kate Middleton showed off her light honey-colored hair at the Natural History Museum. But just two days later, at the Women's Rugby World Cup, her hair was darker, seemingly returning to its traditional brown style.
