Celebrating the 135th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh in Udon Thani Province, Thailand

NDO - On May 18, at the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani Province (more than 500km northeast of Bangkok), the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, Thailand, in coordination with the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani Province and the Vietnam Education Publishing House, solemnly organized the program to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) with many meaningful events.

Attending the event were Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Education Publishing House Nguyen Van Tung, Head of the Management Board of President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani Province Pham Duc Dau, Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Ngo Minh Hien, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Udon Thani Province Luong Xuan Hoa, Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in Thailand Ho Van Lam.

Also attending were Governor of Udon Thani Province Rachan Sunhua, President of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association Sanan Angubolkul and many overseas Vietnamese from several provinces and cities of Thailand.

Delegates commemorate President Ho Chi Minh .

In front of Uncle Ho's altar, on behalf of the delegates, Mr. Pham Duc Dau, Head of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani province, choked up: "Our Fatherland has the Party and Uncle Ho, our Fatherland has never been so beautiful/.../ Today we vow to be loyal and faithful to the oath we have sworn/ The heroic history, the glorious years/ Gather here to offer Uncle Ho these flowers".

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates respectfully offered incense and flowers, commemorating and expressing deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that the painting exhibition is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

At the painting exhibition “The heart of painter Dao Trong Ly with Uncle Ho” within the framework of the commemorative activities, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh affirmed that the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani Province is a sacred place associated with the years of President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary activities in Thailand. On this occasion, all Vietnamese people respectfully remember President Ho Chi Minh with deep respect.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that the painting exhibition "The heart of painter Dao Trong Ly with Uncle Ho" is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity, the great leader who devoted his whole life to freedom, national independence and the happiness of the people.

The nineteen paintings displayed at the exhibition have many values ​​and profound meanings, not only recreating history, but also reviving passionate patriotism and the spirit of great solidarity; at the same time expressing the infinite gratitude of generations for the great contributions and sacrifices of President Ho Chi Minh.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh affirmed that with his outstanding talent and special respect for Uncle Ho, the late painter Dao Trong Ly left behind valuable paintings of President Ho Chi Minh. Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh sent his sincere thanks to the family of the late painter Dao Trong Ly and affirmed that the exhibition is a tribute to the late painter Dao Trong Ly.

In an interview with Nhan Dan Newspaper's correspondent in Thailand, President of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association Sanan Angubolkul said: "With all my heart, I always have the highest respect for President Ho Chi Minh. As everyone knows, President Ho Chi Minh was the founder of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. President Ho Chi Minh sacrificed his whole life for the country of Vietnam. President Ho Chi Minh is a source of inspiration for people all over the world in the struggle for national independence."

According to Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, Thai people and Thai-Vietnamese people are here today to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh - an example not only for overseas Vietnamese living in Thailand, but also for people around the world.

Ms. Vo Thi Hong Van shared that the paintings all contain the late painter Dao Trong Ly's feelings for Uncle Ho.

Sharing with Nhan Dan Newspaper's reporter based in Thailand, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Van - wife of the late painter Dao Trong Ly said that every May 19, overseas Vietnamese in Thailand hold a ceremony to commemorate the merits of President Ho Chi Minh. This is also an opportunity for generations of overseas Vietnamese children to learn and follow Uncle Ho's example.

According to Ms. Vo Thi Hong Van, the late painter Dao Trong Ly was born and raised in a family with a deep love for his homeland and country. Ms. Vo Thi Hong Van emotionally shared that all the paintings contain the late painter Dao Trong Ly's love and respect for Uncle Ho.

The late painter Dao Trong Ly was a patriotic overseas Vietnamese who always turned to his homeland and contributed to the development of the Vietnamese community in Thailand. The paintings of President Ho Chi Minh by the late painter Dao Trong Ly always expressed his love and deep gratitude for his great contributions.

The painting exhibition “Painter Dao Trong Ly’s Heart for Uncle Ho” will continue to be held at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area, Nakhon Phanom province from May 19 to 25.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh believes that the book will contribute to enhancing the patriotism of overseas Vietnamese.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized: "On the occasion of the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader of the Vietnamese people, we are present at the place where he left his footprints on the path to national salvation, and solemnly organize the launching ceremony of the bilingual book "Uncle Ho in Thailand" with exactly 1,350 copies in the first publication".

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh affirmed that the launch of the Thai-Vietnamese bilingual book helps expand the reading culture and popular audience, creating conditions for Thai friends and overseas Vietnamese to understand more about President Ho Chi Minh, not only a great leader who devoted his whole life to freedom, national independence and happiness of the Vietnamese people, but also an exceptionally outstanding messenger of peace and the noble spirit of international friendship.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh thanked the Vietnam Education Publishing House, author Ha Lam Danh, translators, the family of the late painter Dao Trong Ly, and all agencies, organizations and individuals who contributed much effort to complete and bring a work of historical value to the public. The book launch ceremony was jointly organized by the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, also contributing to the meaning of expressing the support of overseas Vietnamese in Thailand.

With that meaning, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh sent his sincere thanks to the Thai Government, as well as the authorities and people of the Northeastern provinces of Thailand for always having goodwill to help, together with overseas Vietnamese contributing much enthusiasm and effort to preserve and spread the noble cultural and spiritual values ​​of the Vietnamese people left by President Ho Chi Minh.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh believes that the book will continue to spread noble human values, contributing to enhancing patriotism and respect for President Ho Chi Minh among overseas Vietnamese, enhancing understanding between the people of the two countries, thereby continuing to foster good feelings between the two nations and further deepening the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Education Publishing House shares about the meaning of the book.

On behalf of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, affirmed that the publication will make an important contribution to educating the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh for generations of Vietnamese people, especially the young generation living, studying and working in Thailand.

This Vietnamese-Thai bilingual book is also a vivid testament to the fine traditional friendship between the Vietnamese and Thai peoples. During his years of working in Thailand, Nguyen Ai Quoc sowed the seeds of sympathy, fostering understanding and closeness between the two peoples. The love and care that the Thai people had for Uncle Ho and the patriotic children of Vietnam during those difficult years was a beautiful expression of pure international solidarity.

Speaking at the bilingual book launch ceremony “Uncle Ho in Thailand”, Chairman of the Vietnam Business Association in Thailand Ho Van Lam shared that although living far from the Fatherland, the hearts of overseas Vietnamese always turn to their homeland, country, roots and beloved Vietnam. According to Mr. Ho Van Lam, preserving the Vietnamese language, Vietnamese culture and Vietnamese history is a way to pass on to children and grandchildren national pride. These books are not only knowledge, but also sacred sentiments from the motherland, reminding "Our people must know our history" as Uncle Ho taught.

Chairman of the Vietnam Business Association Thai Ho Van Lam believes that through meaningful activities, the Vietnam-Thailand friendship will become increasingly closer.

Ceremony of presenting the bilingual book "Uncle Ho in Thailand".

On this occasion, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh and Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Tung presented the bilingual book “Uncle Ho in Thailand” to representatives of several departments and branches of Udon Thani province, the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Monument and Memorial Site, universities, the Vietnam Studies Center, the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, the Vietnam Linguistics Association and overseas Vietnamese.

The book “Uncle Ho in Thailand” by author Ha Lam Danh collects and selects documents and articles from many published sources, aiming to realistically recreate Uncle Ho's revolutionary journey in the warm and affectionate country of Thailand, where he lived, worked, nurtured and popularized the spirit of patriotism, love for the people, and national unity. Gathering many simple and true stories about Uncle Ho during his days in Thailand, the book helps readers feel and appreciate the beautiful cultural and spiritual values ​​of the Vietnamese people. The book has added a cultural bridge connecting the people of Vietnam and Thailand.

Also within the framework of the event, Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Ngo Minh Hien presented two sets of books "Nuon non van dam" by author Nguyen The Ky, former General Director of Voice of Vietnam, to the Management Boards of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani province and the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom province.
