Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and summarizing the emulation movement "Old age - bright example", period 2021 - 2025

Comrade Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented flowers to congratulate the Provincial Association of the Elderly on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly .

Comrade Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Old age - bright example", period 2021 - 2025.

The leaders of the Provincial Elderly Association reviewed the 30-year tradition of formation and development of the Vietnam Elderly Association in general and the Hoa Binh Provincial Elderly Association in particular. The province currently has over 124,500 members operating in 10 district and city-level associations. Under the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and the guidance and direction of the Central Standing Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association, the Hoa Binh Provincial Elderly Association has grown steadily, becoming a reliable support for the Party, the government and the people. The Association has performed well its function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of the elderly, while creating a healthy and beneficial playground for generations of the elderly, thereby contributing to building a fair, democratic and civilized society. Especially in the period of 2021 - 2025, the Elderly Association at all levels has affirmed its core role in caring for and promoting the role of the elderly.

At the program, the Provincial Elderly Association organized a summary of the emulation movement "Old age - bright example", period 2021 - 2025. In the past 5 years, the work of taking care of the spiritual life of elderly members has been given attention and focus. The whole province has nearly 47,100 elderly people being congratulated and celebrated with a total cost of over 12 billion VND; over 60,000 gifts were given to elderly people in difficult circumstances on holidays and Tet; 14,400 elderly people are eligible for social benefits. The whole Association established and effectively operated 2,224 cultural, artistic, sports and physical training clubs, 124 intergenerational self-help clubs, attracting over 40,000 elderly people to participate.

The whole province has nearly 20,000 elderly people participating in Party and government building work; over 40,000 elderly people directly participate in labor production, economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, of which over 1,800 elderly people are good at economics. Elderly people in the whole province have voluntarily donated 460,000m2 of land, mobilized 125,800 working days to implement the new rural construction program...

Speaking at the conference, comrades: Truong Xuan Cu, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly; Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of the Associations at all levels and members of the elderly in the province in the past time. The comrades requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Association of the Elderly to do a good job of advising the Party Committees and authorities at all levels to effectively carry out activities to care for and promote the role of the elderly according to regulations. Further strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness of the role and position of the elderly for cadres, party members and people of all walks of life. Improve the quality of life for the elderly, especially those in difficult circumstances. Focus on innovating the content and methods of operation, considering this an important strategic task in the new development stage. Promoting the role of the elderly in the patriotic emulation movements "Old age - Bright example", contributing to the successful implementation of the National Strategy on the Elderly to 2035, vision to 2045...

On this occasion, 21 collectives and 49 individuals were awarded certificates of merit for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Old age - bright example", period 2021 - 2025.
