Construction of the highway connecting Hoa Binh with Moc Chau begins

Delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway construction investment project, the section in Son La province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh praised Son La province, Hoa Binh province and relevant ministries, branches and units for being proactive and active in preparing for investment, clearing land, and completing necessary procedures to start the project.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh requested that central ministries and branches regularly pay attention to guiding and directing the project implementation, promptly removing difficulties and obstacles. Son La province leads and directs the project implementation with the highest determination, taking drastic actions to ensure the project is completed on schedule and with quality. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to stabilizing the accommodation, arranging work and living conditions of the people who have handed over the site for the project; and pay attention to social security and the lives of people in the project area.

For construction contractors and consulting contractors, the Deputy Prime Minister requested to promote the highest sense of responsibility, review and closely follow plans, options and specific solutions to ensure the quality and progress of the project on a weekly and monthly basis; properly implement the contract and the committed contents; seriously implement the prevention of corruption, waste and negativity when implementing the project; ensure construction on schedule and quality, and strive to complete the project ahead of schedule.

The project to invest in the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway, the section in Son La province, is part of the CT3 expressway from Hanoi to Hoa Binh, Son La and Dien Bien provinces. The route is 32.3 km long, starting at Km53+00 in Chieng Yen commune, Van Ho district, Son La province (connecting with the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project in Hoa Binh province); ending at Km85+262, intersecting with National Highway 43 (in Van Son ward, Moc Chau town, Son La province). This is a particularly important route, when completed it will help reduce traffic on National Highway 6, and is the premise for the formation of the Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Son La - Dien Bien expressway according to the approved plan.

Son La Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Quoc Khanh said that when this expressway is built, travel will be easier, creating conditions for socio-economic development, promoting production of goods, creating development space for Son La province. In particular, investment attraction will increase, more investors will come to Son La. Thereby, contributing to creating jobs for local workers and contributing more to the provincial budget.

The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway construction investment project, the section in Son La province, is built in Van Ho district and Moc Chau town, divided into 3 component projects including: Compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance project in Van Ho district, invested by Van Ho district People's Committee; Compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance project in Moc Chau town, invested by Moc Chau town People's Committee; Traffic construction investment project, invested by Son La province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. The project is divided into 3 construction packages including sections from Km53 to Km63+500, from Km63+500 to Km74+500 and from Km74+500 to Km85+262.

In the phased phase, the investment scale is to build a 12m wide roadbed; in the final phase, the roadbed width is 22m. There are expected to be 4 interconnecting intersections on the route. At the intersections with local roads and residential roads, overpasses or underpasses will be built to ensure safe exploitation and convenient connection. To serve the project's commencement, the 2 localities through which the expressway passes, Van Ho district and Moc Chau town (Son La), have so far completed and basically completed the site clearance work; Van Ho district has started construction of 4 resettlement sites for 100 households whose residential land has been recovered and must be relocated; at the same time, the locations of common construction material mines and dumping sites serving the project's implementation have been planned...
