Celebrating the 59th anniversary of the founding of Can Tho City Special Forces

On March 2, the Liaison Committee of the Can Tho City Special Forces Veterans' Traditions coordinated with the Military Command and the Can Tho City Veterans Association to organize a meeting to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the founding of the Can Tho City Special Forces (February 3, 1965 - February 3, 2024) and the collective death anniversary of the officers and soldiers of the Can Tho City Special Forces.

On behalf of the leaders of Can Tho City, Comrade Nguyen Thuc Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City expressed his deep gratitude to the cadres, soldiers and people who sacrificed for independence and freedom; especially to the families of 207 martyrs of Can Tho City Special Forces. Comrade Nguyen Thuc Hien also requested the City Military Command to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to research and propose the restoration, embellishment and upgrading of Vuon Man Historical - Cultural Relic Site...

On this occasion, the meeting organizers presented 41 gifts to families of martyrs and families who helped the city's Special Forces during the resistance war.

Can Tho City Special Forces was established on February 3, 1965, with 26 comrades. The unit fought in 82 battles, including 33 battles right in the city center...
