Normally, people often use and know the health benefits of lemon, but few people care about the uses of lemon leaves. Not only is it a type of leaf used as a spice in cooking, but lemon leaves are also a medicine, which can support the treatment of some health conditions.

1. Effects of lemon leaves

According to Oriental medicine, lemon leaves have a sweet and spicy taste, warm properties, and have the effect of dissolving phlegm, relieving coughs, disinfecting and reducing phlegm. Normally, lemon leaves are used to treat coughs due to colds, fever without sweating, and support the treatment of bronchial asthma. In addition, lemon leaves are also used to boil water to steam to relieve colds.

2. Some remedies from lemon leaves

Lemon leaves are used in many remedies to support the treatment of diseases such as:

- Remedy for cough caused by cold: Use 5g fresh lemon leaves, 3g fresh ginger. Wash everything, slice ginger, boil with 400ml water until 100ml remains, add a little sugar when drinking. Use for 3-5 days to see results.

- Remedy for cold without sweating: Use 30g of dried lemon leaves or 10g of fresh lemon leaves, boil to get water to drink during the day.

- Remedy to support the treatment of bronchial asthma: Use 35g of dried lemon leaves, 15g of dodder, roast all until golden brown, boil with 3 bowls of water, take 1 bowl, drink 2-3 times a day. Use continuously for 10 days.

- Support treatment of boils without pus: Use 10g of lemon leaves, 8g of prickly ash leaves, 10g of bamboo essence. Dry, grind into powder. Sprinkle on the affected area with boils and bandage for about 8-10 minutes. Do this twice a day.

- Steam bath to relieve colds: Use lemon leaves with grapefruit leaves, chrysanthemum, bamboo leaves, mint, lemongrass, garlic. Boil everything, then steam to sweat.
