Vietnam Post Corporation said that recently, there have been people impersonating post office employees, calling customers, informing them that postal items are damaged or have had an accident during delivery.

Then, the subject asked people to provide personal information and bank account numbers to "refund".

The subject lured customers to send messages to the fake Facebook fanpage of Vietnam Post with names such as "General Department of Post Office", "Post Office Customer Care"...

Then, the subjects made video calls, pretending to be post office employees, asking customers to access strange links or access banking applications.

When customers follow the instructions, the subjects will commit acts of property appropriation.

Vietnam Post Corporation said it does not ask customers to provide bank account information via phone or social networks.

People absolutely do not access strange links or provide personal information through unverified sites.

People should note that the official fanpage of Vietnam Post has a blue tick of authentication from Facebook.

When receiving suspicious calls or messages, immediately contact customer service hotline 1900 54 54 81 or go to the nearest post office to verify the information.

Previously, at the end of May 2025, Vietnam Post Corporation also issued a warning about bad guys impersonating Vietnam Post sending messages to activate membership cards to appropriate assets with a more sophisticated "scenario" of enticement than before.

They send messages like “(TB) BUU DIEN VIET NAM” making customers mistakenly think that this information is sent by Vietnam Post Corporation.

The scammer then continued to send a series of messages instructing users to access the link, asking them to perform the steps of "cancelling the card" and "receiving money back".

The panicked victim continuously transferred money as requested for “complaint fee”, “verification fee”… and was scammed out of a total of 200 million VND.
