Accordingly, for the 2025-2026 school year, the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training needs 42,892 teachers to meet teaching requirements. However, the current number of teachers is 37,459, resulting in a shortage of 5,433.
Notably, the shortage is concentrated in specific subjects of the 2018 General Education Program such as Music, Fine Arts, Local Education, Experiential Activities - Career Guidance, etc., while some other subjects have a localized surplus.
To address this, the Department of Education and Training allowed schools to contract 3,094 teachers, including 2,262 who were within the allocated staffing quota and 832 who were contracted under Decree 111/2022/ND-CP. However, the province still lacks 2,339 teachers.
Following a review, the Lam Dong Department of Education proposed adding 4,169 teacher positions in the 2025-2026 school year and another 4,834 positions in the 2030-2031 school year, prioritizing preschool, primary school, and specialized subjects currently experiencing shortages.
In parallel, the Department of Education and Training also determined that regular training and development for the teaching staff is a key task to meet the requirements of educational reform.
Following the merger, Lam Dong province has 1,605 educational institutions (1,462 public and 143 private) with over 806,500 students. The teaching staff comprises 37,459 people, out of a total of 46,617 officials, teachers, and staff in the entire education sector.
