In recent years, developing the family economy from the integrated livestock model has been a direction that brings high economic efficiency to women members in Tien Hai commune (Phu Ly city). Through the model, many women have emerged to do good business and become rich legitimately. Ms. Vu Thi Ha, born in 1966, a member of the Women's Association of Quan Nha village, is one of those examples - a typical woman who has overcome difficulties to do good business.
Like many other women, in the past, Vu Thi Ha and her husband only relied on a few fields to sustain their lives. Being hard-working and diligent, working and accumulating experience and capital, the couple was determined to develop the economy in their homeland. In 1990, her family expanded the scale of their barns, raising pigs and chickens. In addition, she also developed the profession of making tofu, brewing wine, using wine lees and bean lees to serve the purpose of raising livestock and poultry.
Currently, Ms. Ha's family's livestock model maintains more than 15 sows. Each year, the sows give birth to 2 litters, each litter of 5-10 piglets. Each piglet costs between 1 and 2 million VND. In addition, she also raises nearly 100 chickens. Her family's chicken prices range from 80,000 to 100,000 VND/kg. To develop her livestock, Ms. Ha always listens and learns from livestock farming experiences on mass media and draws experience from practice, so the care and prevention of livestock and poultry diseases is always highly effective, and the livestock always grows and develops well.
Ms. Ha shared: To be where we are today, it is a process of hard work and effort of myself and my family. Initially, when raising livestock, my family also encountered many difficulties because we did not have much experience in raising livestock, investment capital was limited, and diseases came unexpectedly. For example, in 2017, the herd of 30 pigs was infected with African swine fever, the family was extremely heartbroken when the entire herd was destroyed... However, thanks to the support and facilitation of the locality and her participation in technical training courses on livestock, the maintenance and development of livestock gradually became stable and brought about economic efficiency.
With perseverance and a desire to learn, Ms. Ha's family's economic development model in the direction of developing integrated livestock farming has brought a stable annual income. Looking at her family's spacious 2-storey house, we know that it is the result of her family's hard work and diligence in the past time. In addition to developing the family's economy, Ms. Ha is also a member of the Women's Union, actively participating in the activities of the Women's Union of Quan Nha village. She also enthusiastically shares her livestock farming experiences with other members to develop the economy together.
Ms. Tran Thi Nen, President of the Women's Union of Tien Hai Commune, said: Ms. Vu Thi Ha is a hard-working, diligent member who dares to think and dares to do, always proactively seeking and learning to find the right direction in economic development. The economic efficiency of Ms. Ha's family's livestock model not only brings a prosperous life to the family but also motivates many women members and people in the commune to learn and follow, contributing to increasing income, reducing poverty, and promoting the local socio-economic development.
