VHO - On the evening of November 7, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi, the opening ceremony of "Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025" took place with special artistic performances by nearly 1,000 actors and artists. Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh attended the ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by nearly 1,000 artists, actors, artisans and a large number of people from the capital and tourists.

With the theme “Heritage – Connection – Era”, Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 aims to spread the value of Vietnam’s cultural heritage to international friends, affirming Hanoi - UNESCO Creative City, where thousand-year heritage is illuminated by technology and strategic vision.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha said: Hanoi capital with a thousand-year tradition of civilization, a sacred land of talented people, a place where the heroic spirit of Thang Long, the sacred soul of mountains and rivers, the crystallization and shining of Vietnamese intelligence; a place with a long history and a rich and diverse cultural heritage, nurturing and promoting cultural creativity, creating quality cultural products and services.

In recent times, the city has issued many mechanisms and policies, and implemented resolutions on the development of cultural industries on the principle of ensuring harmony between conservation and development, maximizing the potentials, strengths, and traditional cultural values ​​bearing the identity of the capital;

Connect, expand the network and strengthen cooperation with international organizations, experienced cities and prestigious countries in developing cultural industries; meet the needs of cultural enjoyment and increasingly improve the standards, quality and value of cultural products to create the brand of the Capital and Vietnam in the international arena.

" The first Thang Long - Hanoi Festival in 2025 is a large-scale cultural and artistic event, an open creative space, traditional cultural values ​​connected with the spirit of the digital age; where folk artisans meet young artists and creators to renew and enrich the Vietnamese cultural identity in the integration era" - Ms. Vu Thu Ha commented.

The opening ceremony includes three major art programs, symbolizing the journey of “Heritage” – “Connection” – “Era”, demonstrating the exchange, inheritance and creativity of Vietnamese culture. Folk songs and dances such as Xam, Cheo, A Dao, Hat Van, Hat Van Hue , and Cup Dance are combined with modern projection technology, bringing a vivid and impressive visual experience.

The art program has the participation of nearly 1,000 professional actors from leading art units such as Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, Hanoi Cheo Theatre, and many talented artisans of the capital.

The highlight of the program is the performances honoring the original identity of local artisans, recreating many festivals and traditional performances such as: traditional wrestling, "Con dia danh bong" dance (Thanh Liet ward), "Cheo tau" singing and dancing (O Dien commune), "Bai bong" singing and dancing (Phu Xuyen commune), "Giao Long" dance (Viet Hung ward), "Ai Lao" dance (Phuc Loi ward), sitting tug of war (Long Bien ward)...

The Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 will be held for the first time, promising to become a large-scale annual cultural event chaired by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, under the direction of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
