Spreading Vietnam's image at the ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum

From June 23-28, the Vietnamese delegation attended the 19th ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum (AYCF) and the 9th ASEAN + 3 organized by the ASEAN University Network in the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

The Vietnamese delegation included officials and students from Vietnam National University, Hanoi , Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho University. The forum also welcomed universities from 10 ASEAN countries, along with China, South Korea, and Japan.

Within the framework of the Forum, many diverse activities took place to create conditions for delegations to introduce, exchange and learn about the cultures of countries in the region.

The Vietnamese delegation actively participated in cultural performances combining traditional and modern performances, promoting Vietnamese culture and traditional costumes, and exchanging experiences in cultural development with countries in the region.

Delegates attending the Conference also had the opportunity to experience and explore the unique cultural values of the host country Brunei through exchange activities with lecturers and students of the University of Brunei (UBD), including Brunei students studying Vietnamese at UBD, and visit and experience some cultural and architectural works in the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan.

On the occasion of attending the Forum, the delegation of Vietnamese officials and students visited and discussed with the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam about people-to-people exchange activities and bilateral education and training cooperation.

University staff and students hope to have more access to information about scholarship opportunities at Brunei universities as well as potential and cooperation opportunities between educational and training institutions of the two countries in the coming time.

The Ambassador and officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei highly appreciated the participation of the Vietnamese delegation at the ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum and hoped that officials, lecturers and students of universities would increasingly promote their active role in educational, cultural and people-to-people cooperation activities, which are also priority areas of cooperation between Vietnam and Brunei in the period of 2023-2027 and in the future.
