Volleyball village regrets Gabi, a talented and beautiful star

Despite not being able to reach the finals, Gabi - the number one star of the Brazilian women's volleyball team, is still being called upon by many fans to be awarded the title of best athlete of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship.

The match between Brazil and Italy deserves to be considered one of the best and most dramatic matches in the history of top volleyball. And the sad thing is, the brightest star of that match was the loser - Gabi.

As captain, Gabi was absolutely dominant in that match. She scored a total of 29 points, with 27 points coming from her usual attacking situations, and 2 points from blocking.

Gabi's performance completely outstripped the Italian stars who are in top form like Egonu (11 points) or Sylla (21 points). If Brazil wins, experts believe Gabi will be voted the best athlete of the tournament.

Notably, the Italian team has been the number one team in the world for over a year. They have won every title from the Olympic gold medal to two consecutive VNL championships. Brazil only lost by a narrow margin in the 5th game.

However, that failure did not overshadow the brilliant image of Gabi - the 31-year-old, talented and beautiful star of Brazilian women's volleyball.

This is not the first time in her career that Gabi has had to endure bitter defeats. Before that, she was the shining star of her team in the journey to win silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, then the 2022 World Championships.

Gabi's career has been haunted by silver. In addition to two regrettable defeats, she has also finished second in the VNL four times. At the age of 31, Gabi has yet to win a major championship with the Brazilian team.

Therefore, the world fans all shared the pain of Gabi's defeat in the semi-final. She played the best game, far surpassing even the Italian opposite setters and main attackers who are considered the best in the world at the moment.
