Lamine Yamal's arrogant and inflammatory remarks before the match made him the target of attacks from Real Madrid fans and players at the Bernabeu last night.
Numerous whistles and jeers were directed at Yamal whenever he had the ball, and there was even an incident where Real Madrid striker Vinicius deliberately kicked the 18-year-old star hard after clearing the ball out of bounds. When the match ended, several Real Madrid players also rushed towards Yamal to confront him!
And it's not just Real Madrid's rivals who are unhappy; even Barca fans are dissatisfied with their favorite player.
On Instagram after the match, Barca fans criticized Yamal's lackluster performance and urged him to "talk less" and show more on the pitch.
Many people also advised Yamal to learn humility like his senior teammate Lionel Messi. One fan wrote: "Earn respect through your performance on the field, not through meaningless arguments. Learn humility like Messi."
Another person commented: "Honestly, Yamal didn't play at all today. Learn to shine in silence like Messi. If you don't get to work, you'll end up like everyone else we know. Trust me, man, tone down your arrogance if you want to be the best."
Another fan was even more critical: "Yamal, you talk too much. You're becoming just another Fati. Change immediately, or the number 10 shirt won't belong to you."
