Playing at the Bernabeu, Real Madrid are expected to defeat Celta Vigo. Coach Xabi Alonso fielded an attacking lineup with Guler, Bellingham, Vinicius, and Mbappe in attack.

However, Real Madrid had a hard time breaking through Celta Vigo's solid defense. The home team also suffered a big loss when center-back Militao suffered a serious injury and had to leave the field early to make way for Rudiger in the 24th minute.
Deadlocked play prevented Real Madrid from scoring in the first half and they lacked determination in the beginning of the second half. Celta Vigo chose a defensive counter-attacking style of play and they were able to capitalize on their opportunities.
In the 54th minute, after a good combination that ended with a low cross from Zaragoza, Swedberg performed a classy backheel, beating goalkeeper Courtois to help the away team lead 1-0.
Trouble continued for Real Madrid when Fran Garcia rushed in to foul Swedberg and the referee was forced to show a second yellow card, sending the defender off in the 64th minute.

With only 10 men on the pitch, Real Madrid continued to press for an equaliser. But as they pushed forward, they exposed gaps in defence. Alvaro Carreras disappointed when he was sent off for protesting in the 90th minute.
Things got easier for Celta Vigo and in the 90+3 minute, Swedberg easily completed his double, sealing a 2-0 win for the visitors, ending Real Madrid's terrible day.
The 0-2 defeat to Celta Madrid left Real Madrid with only 36 points after 16 matches, 4 points behind the top team and the crisis has not ended under coach Xabi Alonso.
