Premier League rankings round 9: Man United ranked above Liverpool - Graphics: AN BINH
Round 9 of the Premier League ended with many surprising results when big names like Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea all "held hands" and failed.
Taking advantage of that opportunity, Arsenal created a gap in the rankings. A 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace helped them get 22 points, 4 points more than second-placed Bournemouth.
Tottenham moved up to third place after a win over Everton with 17 points (+10 goal difference).
Newcomer Sunderland made a strong impression when they broke into the top 4. They just created a shock when they defeated Chelsea 2-1 to get 17 points (+4 goal difference).
Man City accepted falling to 5th place with 16 points (+10).
Meanwhile, Man United are experiencing their most successful streak under coach Ruben Amorim. After the victory over Liverpool, the “red devils” continued to defeat their arch-rivals Brighton with a convincing score of 4-2. This is also their first 3 consecutive victories under the Portuguese strategist.
This result helps the red half of Manchester get 16 points (+1) to rise to 6th place, above Liverpool. The "Red Brigade" only got 15 points after the defeat against Brentford.
Chelsea disappointed again and fell to 9th place.
The bottom three spots in the table are still held by Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Wolverhampton.
