Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, Deputy Head of the Women's Affairs Department; Nguyen Thi Ninh, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Family and Social- Economic Department (Dak Lak Provincial Women's Union) and more than 200 delegates representing Party cells, self-management committees, front work committees, women's associations of 24 villages, hamlets, representatives of village elders, village and hamlet chiefs, and people of Ea Kiet commune.

The program's goal is to help women's union members and the community grasp knowledge and skills in preventing and combating domestic violence; help local propaganda teams exchange, learn, improve knowledge and skills in propaganda, advocacy, and handling issues related to preventing and combating domestic violence. The program also contributes to helping villages and hamlets in Ea Kiet commune achieve the goal of gender equality and social progress, gradually and effectively implementing Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children".

Here, delegates participating in the program were shared by experts with useful knowledge and skills in preventing and combating domestic violence such as: Early identification of violent behavior, skills to support victims of violence to speak up, how to behave, resolve conflicts in the family with love and understanding... Delegates also watched a number of skits reflecting the current situation of domestic violence and gender inequality in today's society; contributed opinions, proposed solutions and initiatives in communication work to prevent and combat domestic violence.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, Deputy Head of the Women's Affairs Department, affirmed: Exchanging and sharing communication initiatives on preventing and combating domestic violence is a meaningful and practical activity towards building happy, equal and sustainable families in the context of an increasingly developing and innovative society. Preventing and combating domestic violence is not the job of one person, but the responsibility and love of the whole community.

In Dak Lak province, many creative and close communication activities have been implemented such as: skits, folk songs, short films, seminars, club activities, models of "Community Communication Team", "Leader of Change". These activities have partly changed awareness in the community, spreading messages of love, respect and gender equality in each home and community. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy also believes that after this program, good messages and good practices will continue to be spread and replicated, so that each village, hamlet, and home can together build homes full of love, without prejudice and violence.
