Currently, the province has completed 100% of the installation of VMS devices for all fishing vessels 15 meters or longer. Thanks to that, the authorities can promptly detect and handle cases of fishing vessels violating the route or losing connection while operating at sea.
Since the beginning of the year, four representative offices for fisheries inspection and control at the fishing ports of Dong Tac, Dan Phuoc, Tien Chau and Phu Lac have inspected 100% of vessels entering and leaving the port, while fully monitoring the unloading of aquatic products and confirming the origin of aquatic products according to the correct procedures, ensuring that all aquatic products entering the consumption chain have legal origins.
At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment recommended that provincial leaders pay attention to investing in upgrading fishing ports, adding human resources at fishing ports and fisheries control forces to ensure inspection and control work; at the same time, soon have unified software to serve control and management activities in a more synchronous and convenient manner.
