Linking socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security

(GLO)- On October 28, working in Van Duc, An Hao and Kim Son communes, Colonel Nguyen The Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, requested the communes to focus on linking socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security.

At the working session, local leaders reported on the results of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security; the operation of the government apparatus after the merger; planning work; and the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

After the merger, the administrative apparatus of the communes was basically stable and operated smoothly; the staff and civil servants promoted their sense of responsibility, proactively overcame difficulties, and improved the efficiency of serving the people.

In An Hao commune, up to now, 15/19 targets assigned by the province have been completed, with an economic growth rate of 6.51%. The commune has proposed that the province consider adding staff and providing guidance on merging health stations.

Kim Son commune achieved and exceeded 8/19 targets, with a growth rate of 6.5%, equal to 94.2% of the yearly plan. The commune still lacks professional staff, has limited infrastructure and some riverside dikes are at risk of landslides.

For Van Duc commune, the administrative apparatus quickly stabilized, completing 10/19 targets assigned by the province, economic growth rate reached 5.24%, budget revenue reached 38.5% of the plan. Cultural and social fields had positive changes, national defense and security were maintained.

After listening to reports from localities, representatives of provincial departments and branches directly responded to recommendations and committed to supporting localities in development planning, application of science and technology, digital transformation and training of information technology skills for grassroots cadres, civil servants and public employees.

Concluding the working session, Colonel Nguyen The Vinh praised the spirit of solidarity and efforts of the Party Committees, authorities and militia forces of the communes in effectively carrying out the "dual task" - both developing the economy and maintaining political stability and social order and safety.

He suggested continuing to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's resolutions, linking socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security; building a strong militia and self-defense force, promoting the strength of great national unity, contributing to firmly building the "people's hearts and minds position".

He also requested communes to focus on completing planning work, promoting technology application and digital transformation in management and operation; removing difficulties, speeding up the disbursement of public investment capital, and striving to complete 100% of the 2025 plan.
