Digital applications to boost exports.

In the current context, proactively integrating into the digital landscape is no longer an option but a prerequisite for enhancing the competitiveness, adaptability, and sustainable development of businesses in the international arena. The shift from traditional export models to online export is happening rapidly, not only helping businesses save costs but also opening the door to direct access to hundreds of millions of consumers worldwide.

In line with the digital technology trend, Simexco DakLak (2/9 Import-Export Company Limited) is boosting the export of high-value agricultural products through digital transformation with concrete steps. The company has implemented a digital agricultural map for the coffee and pepper industries, covering up to 50,000 farming households. At the recent Anuga 2025 International Fair in Germany, Simexco DakLak introduced a VR 360 (virtual reality) experience for visitors, recreating the entire supply chain from farm to factory, from cultivation to processing. Each order can be traced back to the farm, ensuring transparency and reliability. Furthermore, global customers can access product information, quality certifications, and place orders online directly on the digital platform, receiving 24/7 support from an AI chatbot – creating convenience and instant connectivity.

Mr. Le Duc Huy, Chairman of the Board of Members of Simexco DakLak, believes that digital transformation is not just a trend, but an inevitable path for Vietnamese agricultural products to integrate more deeply into the global value chain. Simexco DakLak is proud to be a bridge helping Dak Lak agricultural products reach further, accompanying the province in its journey to build a digital economy and sustainable development, contributing to bringing the digital economy content to 30% of Dak Lak province's GRDP.

Recently, the Dak Lak Provincial Post Office and Shanon Yunnan Company (China) officially signed a contract to export high-quality coffee to the Chinese market through a specialized e-commerce channel for agricultural products. According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Director of the Dak Lak Provincial Post Office, the successful signing of the trade cooperation agreement and memorandum of understanding for product consumption with Shanon Yunnan Company is a significant step forward, not only expanding the market but also affirming the position of Dak Lak coffee brand in the international market. Notably, the transaction is conducted entirely through e-commerce, using the nongsan.buudien.vn platform, which is owned and operated by Vietnam Post.

Having participated in numerous digital trade promotion programs and e-commerce platform applications organized by the State, Khang Chau Phu Yen Bird's Nest Co., Ltd. has now brought its products to many international customers. According to Mr. Pham Duy Khiem, the company's director, putting products on e-commerce platforms is the right direction, helping the company's products quickly become known in the market, but it needs closer support from the local government. “We have put some bird's nest product lines on the platform, but we are facing difficulties in promotion and maintaining stable orders. The company hopes to receive in-depth training in online sales skills, using advertising tools, and analyzing customer data. If there were a separate program for OCOP products or local specialties, we believe the company would be able to stand firm on the e-commerce platform,” Mr. Khiem said.

In terms of government support, over the years, departments, agencies, and localities in the province have focused on and promoted the development and improvement of institutions to create a favorable environment for promoting digital transformation and supporting businesses in accessing the digital economy. In particular, supporting businesses and households in bringing their products to e-commerce platforms has been a priority for departments and agencies. The Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments have also developed numerous plans and implemented solutions to promote innovation, support businesses in digital transformation, and gradually automate production processes and service provision.

Specifically in the trade and service sector, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented numerous solutions to accelerate and promote digital transformation in production and business activities. These include encouraging commercial enterprises to innovate and apply technology to production to meet the increasingly high demands of consumers. Simultaneously, it has strengthened support for businesses in building and optimizing websites for promotion and marketing, participating in multi-channel online sales systems; and organizing training courses on the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in production and product promotion.

Following the successful conclusion of the first Dak Lak Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, Dak Lak province has promptly implemented several key solutions to realize the goal of 30% of its GRDP coming from the digital economy. Comrade Do Huu Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, stated: "The focus is on promoting digital transformation in the agricultural sector, from farming practices, digital agricultural mapping, the application of artificial intelligence (AI), and big data in supply chain management, to the processing and commercialization of agricultural products."

On October 5, 2025, the Government issued Resolution No. 306/NQ-CP on adjusting the National Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. In this plan, e-commerce is identified as one of the key economic sectors, playing a strategic role in the modernization and international economic integration process; aiming to make Vietnam the second largest e-commerce hub in Southeast Asia, after Indonesia.
