Typical rural industrial products: "Support" from industrial promotion

The fact that Da Nang has two products that have just been recognized as typical rural industrial products at the national level demonstrates the tireless efforts of the business community as well as the city's industrial promotion activities.

Accompanying businesses, in recent years, Da Nang city (old) and Quang Nam province have focused on supporting industrial promotion activities to develop rural industrial products, improve quality, build brands and create higher added value. From this "support", many businesses and production facilities continue to be ready for the goal of innovation.

In 2023, souvenir products of the Conomi brand of Conomi Vietnamese Gift Souvenir Company Limited, headquartered at 1163 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (Lien Chieu Ward) were recognized as typical rural industrial products at the city level.

Previously, along with support programs from industrial promotion activities such as consulting on image design, communication support, etc., the facility also received financial support of 45 million VND to invest in machinery and equipment to innovate and improve product quality, meeting the demand for souvenir products in the city.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (born in 1986), Director of Conomi Vietnamese Gift Souvenir Company Limited, expressed that being recognized helps the product build trust with customers as well as gain a stronger foothold in the souvenir market segment.

Mr. Binh also hopes to continue to receive support from the city's industrial promotion activities, especially after the merger of Quang Nam - Da Nang , the market for souvenirs is wide open. For its part, the business will firmly pursue the goal of producing quality products, not only beautiful and luxurious in design and style but also rich in design.

According to a report from the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion of Da Nang City, from 2021 to the third quarter of 2025, the center has supported the implementation of 40 projects to support the application of advanced machinery and equipment in industrial and handicraft production with a total industrial promotion support fund of nearly 9 billion VND, attracting more than 23 billion VND of investment capital from participating enterprises.

In addition, 18 consulting projects on cleaner production assessment in industry were implemented with a total industrial promotion support fund of 900 million VND.

For Quang Nam province (old), from 2021 to the second quarter of 2025, the budget allocated more than 5.6 billion VND to implement industrial promotion work.

It is expected that in the last 3 months of 2025, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion of Da Nang City will continue to provide capital to develop 9 projects to support the application of advanced machinery and equipment, technology transfer, and scientific and technical advances in industrial and handicraft production for 9 establishments.

In addition, support was given to build a pilot model on applying cleaner production in industry for 2 facilities and support the assessment of cleaner production for 2 facilities, with a total industrial promotion budget of more than 2.5 billion VND.

Building a solid foundation

Rural industrial products of Da Nang city have made strong progress in quantity and quality, especially after the merger between Quang Nam province and Da Nang city.

Accordingly, 158 products have been recognized as typical rural industrial products at the provincial and municipal levels; 15 products at the regional level and 4 products at the national level.

After being recognized as typical rural industrial products, most units and businesses focus on "green" production, producing traditional quality products, while promoting the application of high technology to improve product quality and value.

Mr. Thai Viet Hung, Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion, said that the city has quickly proposed the contents of industrial promotion activities that need priority support for the period 2026 - 2030 according to Resolution No. 324/2020/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2020 of the People's Council of Da Nang City (old) regulating industrial promotion policies and developing the production of souvenir products for tourism in Da Nang City and Resolution No. 33/2024/NQ-HDND dated December 6, 2024 of the People's Council of Quang Nam Province (old) regulating the level of expenditure to support industrial promotion activities in Quang Nam Province.

Accordingly, the lowest support level is from 30-50 million VND/project; the highest can be up to 500 million VND/project.

Also during this period and towards 2045, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion proposed that the Department of Industry and Trade and the City People's Committee continue to pay attention to and prioritize support for the following contents: Building technical demonstration models; transferring technology and applying advanced machinery, scientific and technical advances in industrial and handicraft production; building pilot models on applying cleaner production; building environmental pollution treatment systems for rural industrial production establishments.

These are important contents, creating motivation for rural industrial establishments to boldly invest, improve technology, expand production scale, contributing to the development of local industrial and handicraft production activities.

In addition, in order for industrial promotion activities to truly create a breakthrough, promoting production and business units and establishments that have been recognized as typical rural industrial products to expand their markets and increase product value, one of the highlights of the new policy that will be implemented in the coming time is to improve the quality of the program to select typical rural industrial products.

This is a key step with a number of key solutions to be applied such as: Completing the criteria and voting process by updating and supplementing criteria suitable to reality; focusing on innovation, technology content, quality standards; export capacity and environmental friendliness.

With the above orientations and solutions, the city is creating a solid foundation for rural industry to develop in a modern, sustainable and integrated direction.
