Spreading humanistic values, enduring for the community

For many years, the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV) has considered social responsibility as a mission that goes hand in hand with business development. At BIDV Hai Van, that spirit of sharing is nurtured through simple yet warm actions: supporting the poor, taking care of policy families, supporting studious students, and accompanying the frontline in the fight against the pandemic. Despite the difficulties, the Branch's collective is still steadfast in spreading love, persistently sowing seeds of kindness on the journey of "leaving no one behind".

At BIDV Hai Van, social security work is not a short-term movement or seasonal volunteer activity, but is identified as a regular political task, an important criterion to evaluate the performance of each organization and each cadre and party member.

The branch launched the movement “For the poor - No one is left behind”, associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style; integrated into conferences, party cell activities and emulation campaigns at each time. Thereby, community responsibility is nurtured through correct awareness and concrete actions.

Organizations such as the Trade Union, Youth Union, and affiliated Party Cells always play a core role in organizing activities. Officials and workers are encouraged to participate not only materially but also spiritually: spending time visiting families in difficulty, accompanying the locality in supporting poor households, mobilizing blood donations and participating in community events.

The model of linking the responsibility of each department and each organization with a specific humanitarian address helps support work become more in-depth, effectively monitored and create long-term connections. In particular, the Branch proactively coordinates with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and local associations, ensuring support for the right subjects, right needs, and right time. In the period of 2021 - 2025, BIDV Hai Van has allocated a total budget of VND 2,846 billion for social security activities. Those seemingly dry numbers contain humanity, persistent efforts and sharing of the whole collective in a time of great fluctuations in the economy and social life.

In particular, the program "Tet for the poor" is an outstanding activity maintained annually. BIDV Hai Van spent a total of 1.139 billion VND to give hundreds of Tet gifts to poor households, policy families, and disadvantaged workers. Although the gifts are not of great value, they contain deep encouragement, adding faith and hope for everyone to have a full and warm spring.

In addition, the Branch supports the construction and repair of houses for poor households and policy families with a total budget of 404 million VND. The completed solid roofs not only help people stabilize their housing, but also open up opportunities to escape poverty sustainably, towards a better life.

Facing the damage caused by natural disasters and floods, BIDV Hai Van staff donated 82 million VND to help people in affected areas overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. At the same time, the Branch maintained "gratitude" activities with a total budget of 62 million VND such as visiting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, lonely elderly people, following the moral principle of "When drinking water, remember its source".

Another bright spot is investing in the future through scholarship programs. During the above period, BIDV Hai Van awarded 527 million VND to support students who have overcome difficulties to study well. This is not only material support but also a spiritual gift, giving them more confidence and motivation to continue pursuing their dreams of studying and starting a business.

In particular, during the COVID-19 outbreak, the Branch mobilized 340 million VND to support the frontline and the community affected by the epidemic. BIDV Hai Van staff also actively participated in blood donation with 28 targets completed, contributing to saving the lives of many patients in critical situations. These are beautiful gestures, demonstrating the spirit of "a drop of blood given - a life saved".

Towards sustainable values

BIDV Hai Van’s success in social security work comes from the cooperation, consensus and responsibility of all cadres, party members and employees. The mass organization system such as the Trade Union, Youth Union, Party cells… always plays a core role in organizing activities, ensuring effectiveness and practicality.

The Branch's social welfare programs are not only for immediate support, but also aim to create a long-term foundation for the community. Through housing support, scholarships, and community health care, BIDV Hai Van contributes to nurturing future human resources, building a stable, developed, and humane community.

Looking back on the past, BIDV Hai Van has proven that sharing, humanity and community responsibility are the strengths that create the brand and reputation of the unit. Every program and every contribution, big or small, is a testament to the aspiration to build a better society, where people are cared for and supported when facing difficulties.

Entering a new phase, BIDV Hai Van continues to be steadfast in its goal of linking business development with community responsibility; expanding social security programs in a more sustainable and practical direction; strengthening coordination with socio-political organizations, widely spreading the spirit of humanity.

With a 68-year tradition of accompanying the country's development, BIDV Hai Van continues to write the journey of sharing and building good values. Trust, spreading and hearts that beat with love are the provisions for the Branch to continue to contribute, affirming the mission of "development for people", towards a prosperous, humane and sustainably developed community.
