Nearly 40 billion VND to support the Fund "For the Poor" of Hanoi city

The program aims to respond to the emulation movement "For the poor - Leaving no one behind" for the period 2021-2025 launched by the Prime Minister .

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Pham Anh Tuan said: The program "Joining hands for the poor and social security" and the Month of Action for the Poor in 2025 is an annual activity with profound humanity, effectively implemented by the city for many years, contributing to poverty reduction, eliminating near-poor households and ensuring social security in the capital.

Notably, the activities to support and ensure social security in recent times have not only been well implemented, targeting people in Hanoi but also sharing resources with many affected provinces and cities across the country, thereby demonstrating a Capital of affection, responsibility, creativity, for the happiness of the people.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, as a reliable and effective bridge, in recent years, along with the city's support policies, the Fatherland Front at all levels has effectively implemented activities to mobilize, manage and use the Funds "For the poor", "For Vietnam's seas and islands", "Relief"...

As of October 30, 2025, the city's "Relief" Fund has allocated 140 billion VND to support families of victims of fires, natural disasters, and serious incidents; helping local people overcome the consequences of storms No. 10 and No. 11 and floods.

In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city has promptly supported people in areas affected by natural disasters, guided the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels to propagate and mobilize people to respond and overcome the consequences.

In addition, in 2024 and 9 months of 2025, the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels spent 69.8 billion VND to support the construction of 1,034 houses for poor and near-poor households; repaired 476 houses; donated many essential household items and means of production such as breeding cows, motorbikes, sewing machines, plows, sugarcane juicers, etc. to help poor households have jobs, increase income, and prevent re-poverty.

In particular, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (1930 - 2025), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city supported the construction of 89 Great Unity houses for near-poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in 10 old districts. The total support budget from the city's "For the Poor" Fund is 4.45 billion VND, each house is supported with 50 million VND.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2, the city presented gifts to 690 near-poor households and 1,000 families of outstanding cadres, union members, and youths in difficult circumstances with a total amount of VND 8.45 billion from the "For the Poor" Fund and the city budget.

Currently, according to the results of the review according to the national multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022-2025, Hanoi still has 690 near-poor households in dire need of the cooperation and support of agencies, businesses and philanthropists.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Vu Ha affirmed that this is not only a political task but also contributes to spreading the spirit of mutual love and affection, the profound humanistic meaning of the Vietnamese people in general and the capital Hanoi in particular.

The Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission acknowledged that in recent times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system from the city to the grassroots level has clearly demonstrated the spirit of great national solidarity; well organized support mobilization activities, and supervised the use of public and transparent support resources.

Comrade Vu Ha hopes that on this occasion, press agencies will actively promote and share new ways and good models to continue promoting the fine tradition of humanity of the Vietnamese people in general and the people of the capital in particular, thereby arousing the spirit of humanity, sharing and social responsibility of each citizen, organization and unit in the capital.

Based on the proposal of the Vietnam Fatherland Front that there are many near-poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in communes, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city chose to award nearly 10 billion VND in support at the launching ceremony. Of which, support: 110 Great Solidarity houses (support level 50 million VND/house); 110 electric motorbikes (20 million VND/vehicle); 98 breeding cows (20 million VND/cow); 3 sewing machines (10 million VND/machine). Up to this point, dozens of units, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists have registered to donate nearly 40 billion VND to the city's "For the Poor" Fund.

The People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city calls on agencies, units, businesses, and people of all walks of life to promote the spirit of "Mutual love and affection", "Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country", actively participate in supporting the "For the poor" Fund and social security activities of the city.
