Benefits of receiving pension and benefits through account

The provincial Social Insurance (SI) is actively coordinating with banks to pay pensions and social insurance benefits through accounts. This is a step forward in administrative procedure reform in the spirit of the Government's direction on promoting the payment of social security services through non-cash payment methods.

Paying pensions and social insurance benefits through e-commerce brings many benefits to people. Specifically, receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits earlier than those who receive money at direct payment points; saving time and effort when traveling when not having to gather to receive money and sign payment lists at payment points. For employees receiving sick leave, maternity leave, health recovery, one-time social insurance, unemployment benefits, non-cash payment methods also contribute to limiting the situation of employers appropriating and delaying payment of benefits to employees...

Mr. Nguyen Dac Tan (Ly Tu Trong quarter, Tuy Hoa ward) said: “I have registered to receive my pension through my bank account for several years now. This helps me avoid mistakes and errors; my spending is also better controlled. When I am sick, I can ask my children and grandchildren to withdraw it for me. In addition, when my pension is in my account, monthly recurring expenses such as electricity, water, internet, etc. will be automatically deducted, so I don't have to go back and forth.”

Tuy An Bac Social Insurance officials encourage people to receive pensions through their accounts.

According to Mr. Phan Ngoc Luan, Deputy Director of Social Insurance, currently, pensioners receiving pensions through accounts will be exempted from bank account opening fees, ATM card issuance, internet banking registration, online payment and money transfer... In addition, payment through ATM cards will reduce errors, reduce pressure in the payment organization process and intermediary steps, ensuring that participants receive full, timely and correct benefits.

Recently, to promote the payment of pensions, social insurance benefits, and unemployment insurance through e-commerce, the provincial Social Insurance proactively instructed employees to submit applications for one-time social insurance payments to open personal accounts right at the application reception department and payment points; ATM cards were sent to the beneficiaries' homes. In addition, the provincial Social Insurance also coordinated to propagate and mobilize people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits to choose the payment method from cash to personal accounts; instructed employees to declare information and receive unemployment benefits through their accounts when they come to submit their applications...

Recently, the Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 06371/UBND-KGVX requesting departments, branches, units, and localities to coordinate in developing e-commerce in the payment of pensions, social insurance benefits, and unemployment benefits. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Social Insurance to develop plans and solutions to promote, mobilize, and encourage pensioners and recipients of social insurance and unemployment benefits through e-commerce in 2025 to achieve the targets assigned by the Vietnam Social Insurance; coordinate with banks in the province to guide, create favorable conditions, and have preferential mechanisms to encourage pensioners, social insurance and unemployment benefits to receive money through personal accounts.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested communes and wards to step up propaganda and widely disseminate the policy of the Government and the Provincial People's Committee on promoting the payment of pensions, social insurance benefits, and unemployment benefits through e-commerce payment methods; focus on propagating the effectiveness and benefits of cashless payments...

Deputy Director of the Provincial Social Insurance Phan Ngoc Luan said that implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the unit has developed specific programs and plans to mobilize pensioners, social insurance benefits, and unemployment benefits to receive them through personal accounts according to their needs and create convenience for beneficiaries. As of October 10, 2025, the whole province has paid through the electronic payment method at a rate of 80.97%. Of which, pensions were paid to 44,807 people, reaching 63.55%; one-time social insurance benefits to 1,782 people, reaching 98.40%.
