Provincial People's Committee leaders work with Fico Tay Ninh Cement Joint Stock Company

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Cong Bao - CEO of the Company said that in the first 6 months of 2023, the Company achieved a total output of 84% compared to the same period in 2022. Revenue compared to the same period last year reached 88%. Pre-tax profit reached 90% compared to the same period last year.

According to the Company's leaders, output, revenue and profit were lower than the same period in 2022 due to the decrease in demand for cement in the Southern market, and on the other hand, due to the frozen real estate market while the progress of public investment disbursement of infrastructure projects is still slow.

Currently, the Company is aiming for sustainable development with specific actions to ensure sustainable development for the industry and all stakeholders. In the last 6 months of the year, the Company strives to stabilize production and business; strictly control production costs, circulation, corporate governance and best prepare for equipment overhaul in September 2023.

Regarding social security, Tafico committed to implementing social security work in 2023 with a budget of 6 billion VND. As of July 2023, Tafico has implemented more than 5 billion VND for activities such as: sponsoring cement for districts, building bridges, roads, and charity houses, giving gifts to children and the poor, repaying gratitude and supporting organizations, departments, and branches in the province.

In addition, Tafico actively supports provincial sports activities to support health care and improve the quality of life. Tafico has provided 2,000 tons of cement in the 10,000 tons of cement sponsorship for the construction of Road 794B Phase 2.

Regarding the progress of line 2, the company's leaders said that the company plans to sign a contract with a contractor to build the cement grinding system of line 2 in the third quarter of 2023 and the construction period is 18 months. It is expected that the construction of the kiln system of line 2 will start in early 2024 and be completed by the end of 2025.

In addition, related projects such as: co-processing in clinker kilns are expected to be tested in the fourth quarter of 2023 and construction of a new waste warehouse will begin in early 2024. The power generation system utilizing the waste heat of the kiln is expected to be built together with the second line kiln.

The Company's leaders recommend that the Provincial People's Committee, departments and branches pay attention to supporting and guiding the Company in the process of approving procedures for extending the investment license and constructing the second line project at Tay Ninh Cement Factory. Continue to consider and approve the policy of using Dolomite stone in the phase of increasing the mining capacity on an area of 105 hectares and down to a depth of -40 meters. Support and guide the Company to complete the procedures and legal documents related to the trial operation to be able to apply for a co-processing license.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Van Thang shared the difficulties of the Company in the past time and emphasized that despite the difficulties, the Company's staff has made great efforts. Output decreased compared to the same period, but revenue increased. Compared to some factories across the country, this is also a positive result.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the Company's recommendations and affirmed that the province will continue to accompany businesses to overcome difficulties and maintain production. The Provincial People's Committee leaders assigned departments and branches to support and accompany the Company. Any issues under the province's authority will be supported by the province, related to central ministries and branches, and the Company will coordinate with departments and branches to make recommendations.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Van Thang suggested that in the coming time, the Company should continue to promote positive aspects, strive to overcome difficulties, complete the 2023 production plan, contribute to the industrial production value of the province; at the same time, increase income and profit to ensure the lives of the Company's officers and employees.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested potential projects that will be implemented in the near future and hoped that the Company would have urgent solutions to speed up the construction of line 2, soon bring products to the market; along with that, synchronize the two lines to both save costs and improve production and business efficiency; seek and expand the market, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province in the coming time.
