Spreading humane policies for social security

Social Insurance officers promote benefits when participating in health insurance and social insurance at Bao Cuong market (Dinh Hoa).

Tan Thanh Ward (Thai Nguyen City) is one of the typical localities with the number of people participating in voluntary social insurance (VSI) increasing steadily over the months. This success comes from the drastic participation of the Steering Committee for implementing the ward's social insurance and health insurance policies, along with the support of the regional social insurance agency and the provincial Post Office .

In April, a customer communication conference was held in this locality with the participation of experts from the Department of Collection Management and Participant Development - Social Insurance of Region X. Attending the conference, people were informed about legal regulations, rights and responsibilities when participating in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance. Immediately after the conference, 13 people registered to participate in voluntary social insurance - a number that is not high but clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of direct communication activities.

Also in April, the Phu Luong - Dinh Hoa Inter-District Social Insurance coordinated with the Post Office at the same level to organize a launching ceremony to promote the development of voluntary social insurance and family health insurance participants.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, officials from the two sectors organized small-group communication to households and residential areas, directly providing consultation, answering questions and distributing leaflets. As a result, in Dinh Hoa district, there were 35 new participants and 32 people continuing to participate in voluntary social insurance; in Phu Luong district, there were 23 new participants, 68 people continuing to participate in voluntary social insurance, along with 12 new participants and 90 people participating in family health insurance when it had just expired. In addition, more than 500 people were able to access information directly and through digital channels such as Zalo, Facebook, etc.

Similarly, in Song Cong City and Phu Binh District, the Launching Ceremony to promote the development of voluntary social insurance and family health insurance participants took place in mid-April with the coordination between the Inter-District Social Insurance, Pho Yen - Song Cong Regional Post Office, and Phu Binh Post Office, which also brought about clear results.

The officers and civil servants divided into 30 small groups to go to each household to mobilize. In just a short time, the locality had 33 people participating in voluntary social insurance, along with 283 people participating in family health insurance.

In addition to the above units, since the beginning of the year, units under the Social Insurance of Region X have proactively coordinated with the People's Committees of communes and wards to organize 12 large-scale communication conferences and 28 small-group communication sessions. Accordingly, by the end of the first quarter of 2025, the number of voluntary social insurance participants reached more than 29,570 people, and family health insurance reached over 183,200 people, reaching 99.2% of the plan.

The above figures are not only the result of the synchronous and systematic implementation of the proposed plans, but also a testament to the determination and responsibility of the social insurance sector in bringing policies closer to the people. Voluntary social insurance - a humane policy, opening up opportunities for pensions and protection in old age for self-employed workers; family health insurance - a policy of deep community sharing, helping people reduce the burden of illness... all are gradually realizing the aspiration for social security for all people.

In the coming time, the Social Insurance of Region X will continue to advise the People's Committees of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces in directing the implementation of social insurance and health insurance policies; closely coordinate with all levels and sectors to develop participants. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen inspection and examination of compulsory social insurance participation at enterprises, strictly handle violations and urge collection and payment, in order to ensure fairness, transparency, and protect the legitimate rights of employees.
