The funeral was attended by Politburo members: National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; along with leaders of the Party, State, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, revolutionary veterans, intellectuals, representatives of agencies, departments, branches, organizations, unions, religions, armed forces and a large number of people.

After the Honor Guards performed the burial ceremony, leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, comrades, compatriots and family released flowers to send former President Tran Duc Luong to his final resting place.

In deep sorrow, the leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, comrades, compatriots and family observed a minute of silence to bid farewell to comrade Tran Duc Luong - a highly prestigious leader, a shining example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, a staunch communist party member, to his final resting place.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the State Funeral, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh sent his sincere thanks to compatriots and comrades nationwide and overseas Vietnamese; diplomatic delegations, representatives of international organizations and friends who expressed their deep condolences, sent wreaths, condolences, attended the funeral, memorial service and burial ceremony of former President Tran Duc Luong.
After completing the funeral ceremony, leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Fatherland Front and relatives, along with thousands of people, officers and soldiers, burned incense to bid farewell to former President Tran Duc Luong.
Comrade Tran Duc Luong, born on May 5, 1937 in Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho district (now Duc Pho town), Quang Ngai province, a land rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, permanently residing at 298, Van Phuc street, Lieu Giai ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi city. He participated in the February 1955 revolution and joined the Communist Party of Vietnam on December 19, 1959.
With 88 years of age, 65 years of Party membership, more than 50 years of revolutionary activities, comrade Tran Duc Luong has constantly strived to devote all his efforts to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and for the happiness of the people. From an engineer to a leader of the Mining and Geology sector, he was a National Assembly Delegate of the 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th terms; a member of the Party Central Committee of the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th terms; a member of the Politburo of the 8th and 9th terms; a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the 8th term, Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers; Deputy Prime Minister; President. Regardless of his position, he always fulfilled his tasks well and excellently, a shining example of revolutionary ethics, impartiality, and lifelong devotion to the country and the people.
In recognition of the great contributions of Comrade Tran Duc Luong, our Party and State have awarded him the Gold Star Order, the 65-year Party membership badge; along with many other noble orders, medals, rewards, and titles of our Party, State, and international friends.
Previously, on May 24-25, the memorial service and memorial service for comrade Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Politburo, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, were solemnly held according to the State funeral protocol at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi; Thong Nhat Hall, Ho Chi Minh City and Hall T50, Military Command of Quang Ngai province, the hometown of comrade Tran Duc Luong.
