This year, the Michelin Guide Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang launch ceremony not only announced the annual list of qualified culinary establishments in the three cities, but also created an opportunity for communities to connect and inspire each other.
The event will welcome experts in many culinary fields, from chefs, managers or owners of dining establishments, industry experts, representatives from official partners of Michelin Guide, and domestic and international media agencies to honor culinary quintessence, while promoting cooperation and inspiring the culinary community in Vietnam.
At the event, the list of Michelin Guide selected dining establishments in the 3 cities this year included Michelin Guide Special Awards, Michelin Guide Selected, Bib Gourmand restaurant selection and Michelin Star award recipients.
All dining establishments on the shortlist are evaluated and ranked by anonymous Michelin Guide judges according to five criteria that are consistent worldwide, including quality of ingredients; culinary skill; harmony of flavors; the chef’s personality expressed through the dishes; and consistency of the dishes over time and across the entire menu. These criteria are applied across all destinations worldwide to ensure consistency and fairness in the selection, reflecting international standards.
This year’s announcement ceremony also featured guest chefs from many countries in the region, bringing diverse culinary experiences such as Davide Garavaglia, who won the title of Young Michelin Chef Thailand, Yun Dae-hyun and Hee-Eun Kim from Korea, Sam Aisbett (a combination of Australia and Vietnam), Quang Dung (Vietnam), Olivier Corti (France), Madame Binh (central cuisine)…
The event will be live streamed on Michelin Guide Asia's YouTube channel for wide public viewing.
