The conference was co-chaired by Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang and Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Tran Trong Toan.

Phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Nguyễn Thị Hoàng phát biểu tại hội nghị, nhấn mạnh yêu cầu kiểm soát chặt chẽ môi trường, thúc đẩy sản xuất xanh và phát triển bền vững trên địa bàn tỉnh.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang spoke at the conference, emphasizing the need to strictly control the environment, promote green production and sustainable development in the province.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized that Dong Nai is among the top six localities in the country in terms of economic development, budget revenue and foreign investment attraction. Currently, the province has 31 industrial parks in operation, four industrial clusters with basically completed technical infrastructure, and 11 urban areas with approved planning and in the process of review and adjustment.

However, in addition to socio-economic achievements, Dong Nai is facing increasing environmental pressure in urban, industrial and rural areas. The situation of air pollution, water resources, land and waste generation is increasingly complicated, directly affecting the quality of life of the people and the sustainable development goals of the province.

In recent years, the province has implemented many policies to improve the effectiveness of environmental protection. However, environmental quality control still has many limitations and is uneven between regions and fields.

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, localities, industrial park management boards and enterprises to comprehensively assess the current environmental situation; share models and practical experiences in pollution control and environmental quality improvement. At the same time, propose specific solutions on policy mechanisms, application of science and technology, investment attraction and promotion of public-private partnership in environmental management.

The delegates focused on analyzing the shortcomings in the collection and treatment of wastewater and urban solid waste; proposing the development of industrial clusters according to a green, energy-saving and environmentally friendly model. Some opinions suggested the need to support businesses in converting to a circular production model, and strengthen the role of state management in environmental monitoring and planning.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang assessed that the conference clarified four key contents.

Firstly, environmental pollution in urban and rural areas requires urgent solutions to treat domestic wastewater and restructure environmental infrastructure. Secondly, many industrial clusters still do not have centralized wastewater treatment systems or do not strictly comply with technical standards, which is a major "gap" that needs to be urgently addressed. Thirdly, enterprises play a key role in technological innovation and investing in waste treatment systems towards cleaner production. Fourthly, authorities at all levels need to promote their role in planning, supporting enterprises, and monitoring the community, moving towards a synchronous and effective environmental governance model.

Based on the conference content, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will synthesize opinions and advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to develop a specific action plan. The focus is on strictly controlling sources of waste that pose a risk of pollution, strengthening environmental quality monitoring and supervision, adjusting policies to effectively mobilize resources, especially in urban wastewater treatment, investing in infrastructure for industrial clusters, and supporting businesses to transform production towards green, clean and circular.
