Lac Thinh Commune De Rice Festival 2023

On December 7 (October 25 of the lunar calendar), the People's Committee of Lac Thinh commune (Yen Thuy) held the opening ceremony of the 2023 De Rice Festival.

Muong gong performance opens the De rice festival.

This is a traditional festival that has existed for a long time in Muong Trac and Muong Ram, Lac Thinh commune. The festival is associated with wet rice agriculture , with the meaning of respecting the gods, remembering the two generals who went to fight the enemy and helped the Muong people; praying for all things to develop smoothly, favorable weather, bountiful crops, a prosperous and happy life.

The festival is also a community activity, associated with spiritual culture and beliefs, preserved and promoted by the people, organized annually. On the opening day of the festival, a large number of people and tourists from inside and outside the province came to witness the ceremony and visit, experience the activities of the culinary booth competition and display, introduce OCOP products, local specialties, enjoy cultural and artistic programs imbued with identity.

Previously, on December 6 (ie October 24 of the lunar calendar), at the volleyball court of the People's Committee of the commune and Lang hamlet, Dinh Ram yard - Dinh Van hamlet, there was a volleyball exchange between communes in the district; tug of war, stilt walking for the people and tourists. From dawn on December 8 (ie October 26 of the lunar calendar), tourists went to visit and experience the traditional De rice ceremony at families.
