(BLC) - On the morning of February 20, Le Loi commune, Nam Nhun district held the King Le Thai To Temple Festival.
Attending the festival were comrades: Chu Le Chinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee of Nam Nhun district and districts and cities in the whole province, along with a large number of people from communes, towns, and tourists attending the festival.
The Temple Complex of King Le Thai To and the King Le Thai To Stele are located about 110km southwest of Lai Chau City Center in Le Loi Commune (Nam Nhun District). The Temple was built to commemorate the merits of the national hero Le Loi, who had the merit of suppressing the rebellion in the Northwest region. In the Temple Complex, there is also a precious relic, the Le Loi Stele. In December of the year Tan Hoi 1431, after pacifying the Northwest region, on the way back through the current Le Loi Commune (Nam Nhun District), in order to teach the chieftains who governed the border of the Fatherland, King Le Thai To had an inscription engraved on the rock wall to commemorate this event. The stele with the inscription of King Le Thai To remaining to this day is an extremely precious cultural heritage of the people of Lai Chau in particular and the whole country in general. In 2005, Son La Hydroelectric Plant started construction, to avoid flooding, the inscriptions and stele of King Le Thai To were moved. In 2012, Le Loi stele was moved from Pu Huoi Cho cliff to the grounds of King Le Thai To Temple, 500m from the old location. Le Loi stele relic has been recognized as a national historical relic, and King Le Loi Temple has also been ranked as a national historical relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The organization of the King Le Thai To Temple Festival in 2024 by Nam Nhun district is an important cultural event expressing gratitude and honor for the sacrifices of national hero Le Loi and the generals, soldiers, and people across the country who have made great contributions to the history of building and defending the country, arousing the beauty of our country's cultural traditions, national pride and self-respect, contributingto educating and promoting historical and cultural traditions, patriotic traditions in building and defending the Fatherland.
During the ceremony, Le Loi commune people performed incense offering at the Temple and carried the statue of King Le Thai To to the main Temple area; performed the ritual of offering offerings and giving blessings to people coming to the festival on the occasion of the beginning of the new year. During the festival, people will participate in sports activities and folk games such as crossbow shooting, traditional boat racing, cooking competitions, volleyball, etc.
In the coming time, along with preserving the temple of King Le Thai To, Nam Nhun district will continue to maintain the organization of the festival of King Le Thai To Temple associated with cultural and sports activities, traditional folk games of ethnic minorities. From there, promote the preservation of the cultural identity of ethnic groups.
