Hot Air Balloon Festival, one of the events realizing the theme of National Tourism Year

On August 16, 2024, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province issued Plan No. 3634/KH-UBND to organize the special Flag-Salute Ceremony "Pride of Vietnam - Dien Bien Phu" and the 2024 Hot Air Balloon Festival "Fly up Vietnam! Proud of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory. This is the first event held in the province with many attractive activities and special highlights.

Accordingly, the special Flag-Salute Ceremony "Proud of Vietnam - Dien Bien Phu" and the 2024 Hot Air Balloon Festival "Fly up Vietnam! Proud of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory" will be held for 5 days, from November 7 to 11, 2024 in Dien Bien Phu city, aiming to: Create great attraction for people and tourists in promoting the land, culture and people of Dien Bien; at the same time, encourage cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in the province to promote the heroic spirit of Dien Bien Phu in the current revolutionary cause. Praising the heroic sacrifices and hardships of our army and people to create the Dien Bien Phu Victory "Resounding throughout the five continents, shaking the world", affirming the significance, stature and great historical value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. Contribute to educating political ideology, patriotism, national pride, and self-respect, fostering people's trust in the Party and State; arousing revolutionary heroism, the spirit of great solidarity, self-reliance, and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country. Along with that, it will create a unique tourism product for tourists and people to visit and experience.

Event scale, including 02 main activities:

1. Special Flag Salute Ceremony “Pride of Vietnam - Dien Bien Phu”

Level 7-8 balloons lift the national flag measuring ^2025m2 at an altitude of 40-50m. Level 1 balloons hang around the national flag at an altitude of 30-50m. Paragliding and fabric-wing aircraft perform around the flag. Special large balloons decorate the festival. Highlights: The national flag measuring ^2025m2 and 70 balloons flying high to welcome.

2. Hot Air Balloon Festival 2024 “Fly to Vietnam! Proud of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory”

Flying on a level 7 hot air balloon and a level 1 hot air balloon at an altitude of 30-50m. Free flying on a level 07 - 08 hot air balloon at an altitude of 50-200m. Level 7 hot air balloon carrying tourists to experience hanging flights. Night of hot air balloon lanterns. Visiting giant hot air balloons at the festival area. Flying on a paragliding performance with a motor and a fabric-wing plane. Special large hot air balloons decorating the festival. Highlights: 14 level 1 hot air balloons bearing the logos of 14 northern mountainous and midland provinces showing solidarity and closeness between localities in the region; for the first time hot air balloons fly freely in the sky of Dien Bien Phu in the middle of Muong Thanh valley.
