Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a master plan for the celebration, parade, march and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975/April 30, 2025).
Accordingly, the national celebration ceremony organized by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly , the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City, took place from 6:30 a.m. on April 30 on Le Duan Street and some central streets, and was broadcast live on channels of Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and local radio and television stations.
The ceremony included a 30-minute art program hosted by Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security . After the flag salute, there were speeches by Party and State leaders; speeches by representatives of veterans and young generations; a military parade and march, ending with the release of balloons and doves.

The key activities are directed by Ho Chi Minh City. Specifically, the incense offering and flower offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs will take place at 8:00 a.m. on April 29 at the City Martyrs Cemetery, the City Cemetery (Lac Canh), Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, the Cu Chi District Martyrs Cemetery, the Ho Chi Minh City Policy Cemetery (Cu Chi District), the Nga Ba Giong National Historical Site (Hoc Mon District); The incense offering and flower offering ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang at the Central level is scheduled for the afternoon of April 29 and at the Ho Chi Minh City level at 9:30 a.m. on April 29 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - City branch, Ton Duc Thang Museum, President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street.
The 37th City Television Cup Cycling Race with the theme "The Country and Rivers Together" took place at noon on April 30; fireworks were set off on the evening of April 30.
Ho Chi Minh City also organized activities to pay tribute to families of martyrs, people with meritorious services to the country, veterans, former youth volunteers and forces participating in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising; summarizing 50 years of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City after the country's reunification; inaugurating and starting construction projects in various fields...
Activities chaired and coordinated by ministries and branches in Ho Chi Minh City during the holiday include: "Peace epic" television bridge at 8:00 p.m. on April 5 at Thong Nhat Hall; outdoor art program "The country is full of joy" at 8:00 p.m. on April 20 at Thong Nhat Hall; national television bridge "Forever the triumphant song" at 8:10 p.m. on April 27 at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Quang Tri; photo exhibition "Proud of a border strip" starting from April 27; trumpet music performance combined with horseback riding techniques at 8:00 p.m. on April 30 on Nguyen Hue Street and Le Loi Street.
