The lighting ceremony of 7 lotus flowers was performed solemnly.

Attending and celebrating the ceremony were the Venerables of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Permanent Venerables of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Venerables of the Organizing Committee of the Great Ceremony; Venerables of the Buddhist Sangha from the monasteries, Buddhist Recitation Halls, and representatives of leaders of departments at all levels, along with a large number of Buddhist followers from all walks of life.

Most Venerable Thich Khe Chon, Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Committee and Head of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Council, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Grand Ceremony, delivered the opening speech, emphasizing: “When the 7 lotus flowers are lit on the Perfume River, officially signaling the arrival of the Buddha's Birthday PL.2568, let us join hands to contribute, nurture and develop compassion and wisdom to have kind thoughts, words and actions, practically build a virtuous lifestyle right in the family, residential area, village, to unite with all, make offerings to the Buddha, contributing to building a harmonious, friendly and civilized society”.

7 lotus flowers lit up in the middle of the Perfume River
In the solemn moment, all monks, nuns and Buddhists listened attentively to the light from the pure footsteps of the Buddha. Seven lotus flowers were lit up mysteriously on the Huong River from Phu Xuan Bridge up to Da Vien Bridge.
