The festival of the Holy Mother of the Nine Heavens is held on the 9th day of the 9th lunar month every year, an occasion for people and visitors from all over to remember and pay tribute to the Holy Mother's merits. The ceremony takes place solemnly, including the following parts: the announcement ceremony, the female official ceremony, the incense offering ceremony and the Chau Van performance - serving the Holy Mother right in the temple grounds, attracting a large number of people and visitors to attend.
As an ancient temple, Cuu Tinh Temple has long been one of the important centers of religious activities in preserving and promoting the values of Mother Goddess religion, along with Chau Van and Hau Thanh rituals, which are intangible cultural heritages of humanity recognized by UNESCO.

The temple worships the Holy Mother of the Nine Heavens, also known as Princess Thanh Van, one of the Holy Mothers leading the Heavenly Palace. In addition, the temple also worships the Three Palaces, the Four Palaces, the Tam communal house, and the Nine-well Song Son Goddess, a magical fairy who was assigned by the Jade Emperor to serve the Holy Mother.
The annual festival is held to commemorate and express gratitude to the Holy Mothers who have protected and helped people escape from disasters, bringing good crops and a peaceful life. This is also a meaningful activity in honoring and spreading the cultural values of Mother Goddess religion of Cuu Tinh Temple in particular and Ninh Binh province in general, contributing to building an advanced culture with strong national identity.
