The Nine-Tiered Holy Mother Festival, held annually on the 9th day of the 9th lunar month, is an occasion for people and visitors from all over to remember and express gratitude for the Holy Mother's merits. The solemn ceremony includes: the announcement ceremony, the female deity's ritual, the incense offering ceremony, and the performance of Chầu văn (a type of folk singing) in honor of the Holy Mother right in the temple grounds, attracting a large number of locals and tourists.
As an ancient temple, Cuu Tinh Temple has long been one of the important centers of religious activity in preserving and promoting the values of the Mother Goddess religion, along with the Chau Van and Hau Thanh rituals, which are intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO.

The temple of the Holy Mother of Nine Heavens, also known as Princess Thanh Vân, is one of the leading Holy Mothers of the Heavenly Realm. In addition, the temple also houses shrines to the Three Realms, the Four Realms, the Assembly of the Three Deities, and Cô Chín of Sòng Sơn Well, a celestial maiden with extraordinary powers whom the Jade Emperor sent to serve the Holy Mother.
The annual festival is held to commemorate and express gratitude to the Holy Mothers who have protected and saved the people from calamities, bringing bountiful harvests and peaceful lives. This is also a meaningful activity in honoring and spreading the cultural values of the Mother Goddess religion of the Cuu Tinh Temple in particular and Ninh Binh province in general, contributing to building an advanced culture rich in national identity.
